Why aren't the best American Muay Thai fighters on every U.S. event?

Muay Thai fights here in the U.S. are few and far between, however when they are put on you don't always see the best fighters competing against one another.

Why? Is a question many fighters ask themselves. There are situations where some of the best fighters don't get offered to fight, even when the event is in their own hometown.

Is it because promoters think they will have to pay too much for their services? If that's the reason it a joke, for the record Muay Thai fighters don't make that much here in the United States. The best Muay Thai fighters make less than most average MMA fighters per fight. If a promotion is throwing a show, they shouldn't be throwing it unless than can fill that card with top notch talent.

Fighters like Kevin Ross and Romie Adanza are world ranked by the WBC, and you don't see them fighting on every card, the worst part of that is they aren't getting offered to fight on every card that is here in the United States.

Kevin Ross has even been called out by Saenchai, one of the best Muay Thai fighters in the sports history. A Thai fighter calling out an American, that's un-heard of. Ross acknowledges the fact that he isn't even being invited to compete here in the United States at every event.

"It's shameful when there are Muay Thai fights in America that I'm not even invited to be on. I mean technically speaking I am one of the best fighters in Amercia and the fact that these promoters don't put me on their shows is disrespectful." Ross said. "Now either they can't afford it,which ain't that much,or they don't know how to get in contact with me. If there's any confusion I can always be contacted at kdo_designs@hotmail.com or they can contact Mark, my manager at markhyena@hotmail.com."

Don't interpret those words as being cocky, because Ross is one of the best, it's simply a fact. Ross wants promoters to know that he's one of the best and for Muay Thai to be taken seriously in the United States, events need to have the best fighters fighting. He put his information out there because like he said he doesn't want any confusion.

The movement to make Muay Thai more mainstream has started, now lets make sure we get it right and include the best talent available on those fight cards. It's obvious fighters like Kevin Ross want to be on the cards, and why shouldn't the promoters want him, he comes to fight, he's exciting, and you know at the end of the night your not going to leave disappointed.

With all that said, lets make sure we get the best fighters showcasing there skills, and make sure when people come and see Muay Thai shows here in the United States they are seeing the best we have to offer.
