Sponsor Spotlight: Namman Muay

Anyone who has trained Muay Thai has likely used Namman Muay before. For those not familiar with the name, Namman Muay is a Thai liniment that serves as a warming agent to prepare the body for strenuous activity.

Until mid 2010 Namman Muay was actually illegal in the United States, any bottles you bought from your local gym or market were brought over a few bottles at a time from people returning from Thailand, technically they were not supposed to be sold. Competitive Ace then decided to get involved and help regulate the importing of Namman Muay to the United States. With their due diligence Namman Muay was accepted by the Food and Drug Administration, and they are now the official importer of Namman Muay.

What was the importance of getting Namman Muay regulated? It helps ensure you are getting what you paid for. When buying product simply brought over by someone there is no monitoring into how the product is produced, or how old it is. Now that The Food and Drug Administration is involved there are industry standards that the product must meet to be sold in the United States. In addition you no longer have to wait for someone to go to Thailand and bring you back a bottle, you can simply purchase Namman Muay on their website, and it will arrive in a timely manner.

Namman Muay is also assisting in the efforts to help Muay Thai grow in the United States. In addition to their current project to get a Muay Thai Exhibit in to the Martial Arts Museum in Burbank, CA they also sponsor Muay Thai fighters. They have been sponsors of Malaipet for his last two fights, and will be sponsoring Mark DeLuca for his upcoming bout on May 14th against Kevin Ross at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 2". In addition to helping regulate and distribute a great product to us, they are also looking to help expand Muay Thai.
