Upated North American Men's Rankings 4/27/2011

To expand on the rankings, all fighters born in North America are eligible. North America will include fighters from the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Rankings are based on P4P. Fighters are not to be inactive for any period longer than 6 months or they will be dropped from the rankings unless a fight is schedule within a month from the date they become ineligible.

1. Kevin Ross (16-6)
Despite his split decision loss to Sittiask Por Sirichai at Battle in the Desert. He hung in the fight with Sittisak, and showed he has the grit to fight through adversity after injuring his hand early, and suffering some bad cuts. Ross now looks to get back on the winning track against Mark DeLuca at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 2" on May 14th.

2. Ky Hollenbeck (10-0-1)
Hollenbeck was the under dog going into his fight with Vuyisile Colossa but came out the winner. In what was his toughest challenge he defeated the highly ranked and regarded Colossa. Hollenbeck is already scheduled to fight another world class fighter in Gregory Choplin at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 2" on May 14th. If Hollenbeck were to come out on top against Choplin it would be back to back victories against world class opponents, and an argument could be made that he is the number one Muay Thai fighter from America.

3. Romie Adanza (9-2)
Adanza competed in the WCK Muay Thai China 4-man tournament in December. He made it to the finals but lost a decision to the much larger Li Ning. It will be interesting to see if Adanza decides stick around at the higher weights where he will find more opponents, or he can move down back to the 115lb weight class where he will likely rule supreme, but it might be harder to find fights. Adanza is set to fight Thanit Watthanaya on May 28th in his first action of 2011 for WCK Muay Thai at Pala Casino.

4. Joe Schilling (10-1)
Schilling dismantled Chase Green to win the interim WBC National Super Middleweight Title back in March. Now he hopes to get some more high profile fights. Rumors of a match with current WBC National Super Middleweight champion Jared Lara are circulating, but if you ask Schilling he doubts that fight will happen as he feels Lara is ducking him. Rumors of a bout against Kaoklai have surfaced but as of yet nothing has been officially announced.

5. Jesse Miles (13-2)
Jesse Miles defeated Charlie Annonay at the Ringmasters event on Feb. 4th, the win was a good way to bounce back after his decision loss to Comso Alexandre at the Kings Cup in Thailand this past December. Miles is a serious threat to anyone in front of him in the ring, and should get more opportunities to show his skills off internationally.

6. Michael Mananquil (21-4)
Michael Mananquil avenged his split decision loss to Malaipet, by winning a unanimous decision in the re-match. Mananquil pushed the pace the entire fight, and even after getting knocked down in the second round he continued to push the pace and attack.Currently no fights are scheduled for Mananquil, but a good match-up that would pit American vs. American would be against Kevin Ross.

7. Matt Embree (17-3)
Matt Embree defeated Rami Ibrahim in the opening round of the Journey Fight Series tournament, and earned a re-match with Coke Chunhawat. It will be interesting to see what game plan Embree tries to use against Coke after dropping the first bout due to a very close split decision. The fight is set to take place June 11th.

8. Shawn Yarborough (12-3-1)
Yarborough has now suffered back to back losses after dropping a unanimous decision to Brandon Banda at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert". Yarborough seemed too relaxed and didn't attack much in the early rounds, when he did attack in the later rounds he seemed to impose his will on Banda, but he didn't keep it up until the fights end. With two losses in a row, Yarborough needs to do some tweaking and begin attacking early in fights rather than later. He is scheduled to face Chris Romulo from New York on May 14th at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 2".

9. Steven Banks (13-0)
Banks is the only big boy on this list, he possesses technicality and power. He recorded a big TKO win over Eduardo Morais in December to win the WBC International Super Heavyweight Title. There isn't many super heavyweights for Banks to match up with so to continuously stay active a drop down to heavyweight might be necessary.

10. Justin Greskiewicz (13-5-3)
Greskiewicz advanced in the opening round of the Journey Fight Series tournament by winning a decision over Nate SmandychTuran Hasanov at Friday Night Fight's April 29th event.
