Take-On Productions is currently set for their event on September 9th "September Showdown", and they plan on having a quick return with their next event scheduled for October 22nd. The difference is that they will be moving their show to Atlantic City, NJ at Bally's Hotel and Casino. Take-On Productions president Eddie Cuello has confirmed with Muay Thai Authority that they have now signed a multi-event full partnership with Madison Square Garden (MSG) and Bally's Hotel and Casino.
The event will feature professional and amateur full rules Muay Thai. Amateurs will be fighting using full rules for the first time in the northeast. No head gear or shin guards will be worn by the amateurs, however, their elbows will be padded to help prevent cuts from elbows. Notable amateurs scheduled to fight on the card thus far include Osvaldo "June" Dominguez and Stoney Morales.
The only pro fight set for the event as of now will feature Jay Matias making his professional debut as he takes on Jake Mainini. Matias captured the WKA amateur title against Brandon Mickens at Take-On Productions "Battle at the Beacon Theater" this past July. Mainini was scheduled to fight on the same card, but was forced to withdraw from the bout due to an injury. Mainini is currently in Thailand training at Sitmonchai so it will be interesting to see what techniques if any he brings back with him for his upcoming fight with Matias.
Other notable pro's expected to fight on the card include Sean Hinds who recently defeated Douglas Edwards at "Battle at the Beacon Theater" and Andy Singh who recently defeated Eric Ruiz in his pro debut at "Battle at the Beacon Theater" as well.
