Anthony Nieves and Chris Clodfelter will fight at Bangkok Fight Night 11 in Atlanta, GA on October 22nd. Nieves and Clodfelter met a few years back in a fight that was declared a no contest after Nieves landed an accidental elbow to the back of Clodfelter's head and could not continue. William Felch caught up with Anthony Nieves on behalf of Muay Thai Authority to talk about the upcoming bout with Clodfelter.
MTA: Your previous bout with Chris Clodfelter ended in a no contest after you landed an accidental elbow to the back of the head, what were your thoughts on the ending of that fight?
Anthony: I thought I dominated the entire fight, he found an escape route early on and he took it.
MTA: Coming into the re-match with Clodfelter, are you going to follow the same game plan as the first fight or what will your strategy be this time?
Anthony: I intend to push the pace and see where it goes. I hear he's been training hard, I have a feeling it's going to be a much better fight. I assure you I'll be prepared.
MTA: So how has training been going for this fight, you haven't fought Muay Thai in quite some time but have been keeping busy with boxing and MMA?
Anthony: Lots of hard sparing, plenty of consistent training sessions at Madhouse with Manu Ntoh. I don't expect any ring rust as I've stayed active with MMA and boxing and steady Thai training. I'm excited to ge back in the Thai ring and I cant wait for this fight.
Below are some pics that William Felch provided Muay Thai Authority of Nieves as he trains for the bout with Chris Clodfelter.
