The Rundown: Buakaw, Yodsanklai, Kevin Ross, and Ky Hollenbeck all victorious, Pinca loses

It was a busy Muay Thai weekend with some big events taking place all over the world. Below is a list of events with what we call "The Rundown".

Thai Fight Extreme
Some big names were part of Thai Fight Extreme including Buakaw and Yodsanklai, and as expected both walked away with wins. Both fighters too home their wins via decision, Buakaw defeated Djime Coulibaly while Yodsanklai defeated Jose Barradas .

In the night's most shocking fight Fabio Pinca was defeated by Yamato Yuya. Pinca was cut by an elbow, and the referee waived the fight as soon as the cut started to bleed. It didn't seem like a bad cut, it was on the crown of his head. Pinca looked dejected due to the stoppage, but accepted the referees decision.

Results:
Buakaw Por. Pramuk def. Djime Coulibaly via decision
Yodsanklai Fairtex def. Jose Barradas via decision
Saiyok Pumpanmuang def. Ibrahim Njie Jarra via TKO (Referee Stoppage/Cut) in Rd. 1

Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 2"
Big American names saw action at this weekends Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 2". Ky Hollenbeck was the nights big winner as he defeated Gregory Choplin from France via unanimous decision to claim the WBC Muay Thai interim middleweight world title.

Kevin Ross defeated Mark DeLuca via doctor stoppage after the third round after he split DeLuca's lip wide open with an elbow. The gash was pretty bad, and Ross had begun to take over the fight by that point.

Cosmo Alexandre had a successful American debut against Cyrus Washington. The fight went the distance, and at times it seemed Cosmo could have really turned up the heat and ended the fight, despite not getting a finish his Muay Thai skills were on full display.

In other fights Chaz Mulkey defeated Ken Tran in a WBC Muay Thai International challenge match. The fight was the most entertaining of the night and the fighters went back and forth with great exchanges. Jose Palacios made quick work of Scotty Leffler winning by KO just twenty five seconds into the fight after connecting with a right hand that broke Leffler's jaw.

New York/New Jersey should be proud of their fighters. After much East vs. West debate Chris Romulo and Ognjen Topic came to Nevada to represent New York and New Jersey. Romulo and Shawn Yarborough fought a tightly contested fight that in the end went to Shawn Yarborough via split decision, but could have easily gone in Romulo's favor. Topic on the other hand lost a very controversial unanimous decision to Anthony Castrejon. Topic used his length to keep Castrejon off balance and looked to have walked away with a decision, but to the shock of many the judges awarded the fight to Castrejon, with all three judges scoring the bout 48-47.

In the night's only female fight Jeri Sitzes used well placed body shots to finish Sally McCarthy via TKO in the second round. McCarthy took the fight on short notice after Misty Sutherland had to withdraw due to injury.
