Friday Night Fights Muay Thai will hold the first of back-to-back events on September 16th at the Broad Street Ballroom in New York. The promotion, run by Justin Blair has continuously improved their position in the Muay Thai market. In a time when most shows rely on heavy ticket sales from amateur fighters to bring in their local crowd, Friday Night Fights has consistently changed things up by featuring a high number of pro bouts on their cards card, including this evening’s.
Promotions out west, such as Lion Fight Promotions have already started to invest in fight cards that feature six or seven pro fights as opposed to the past when fight cards typically featured one or two pro fights and various amateur fights. With the promotional Muay Thai game evolving, Friday Night Fights is looking to shift with the times. Five pro bouts are featured on their September 16th event, fighters not only from New York, but Canada, Georgia, South Carolina, Missouri and Las Vegas as well will take place in the night's action.
With Muay Thai being very regional the move will continue to establish Friday Night Fights Muay Thai, not only with new fans of the promotions, but also fans that have followed the promotions from its infancy fifteen years ago. With back-to-back events fans should look forward to exciting Muay Thai action two weekends in a row.
