Ognjen Topic and Josh Sampo met in the night’s co-main event. Topic was able to land the cleaner strikes in the fight as he used his technical style more efficiently. Sampo was able to dump Topic in the later rounds, but it was clear that Topic was more effective with his reach and kicks throughout the fight. Topic won a unanimous decision over Sampo and now pushes his pro record to 4-2.
In the night’s first pro fight Marcus Fisher and Kevin Horowitz went the distance. Fisher had a few inches on Horowitz, but that did not keep Horowitz from trying to fight in the clinch. Despite his efforts, Horowitz was consistently met with knees to the body and face throughout the fight and was not able to muster up any offense in the clinch. Fisher was able to tie up Horowitz and work the mid section followed by some vicious knees to the head of Horowitz, one of them opening up a cut under Horowitz left eye. When not in the clinch Fisher connected with some solid kicks and teeps. After the final bell it was clear that Fisher would likely be taking the fight on the judge’s score cards and he did so unanimously. With the win Fisher improves his record to 3-2.
