Buakaw might not be able to fight on April 17th Thai Fight event in Pattaya, Thailand

Buakaw seemed ready to return to action after his recent split with Por. Pramuk Gym. He was expected to fight at the Thai Fight event in Pattaya, Thailand on April 17th under the name of his new gym Banchamek. According to the Bangkok Post, Buakaw might not be allowed to fight on the April 17th card in Pattaya because the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) has stated that Buakaw can’t fight until he registers his new camp with the proper authorities.

In addition to registering his new camp, Buakaw is expected to file a complaint against Por. Pramuk. The SAT will then investigate the claims that Buakaw was mistreated by the Por. Pramuk camp.

Buakaw still has roughly two weeks for this to be cleared up before the Thai Fight event. Hopefully everything gets squared away and he can fight on April 17th in Pattaya. Below is the exact article that appeared in the Bangkok Post.

“Buakaw can't fight

The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) said yesterday that Muay Thai superstar Buakaw Banchamek (formerly Buakaw Por Pramuk) can't take part in next month's Thai Fight unless he formally registers his new camp with the authorities.

Buakaw has severed ties with former camp Por Pramuk and has since set up his own camp.

He has also changed his fight name to Buakaw Banchamek following the split.

SAT deputy governor Sakol Wannapong said Buakaw cannot fight until he files a complaint with the SAT which will investigate if Buakaw was unfairly treated by Por Pramuk.

If his claim is proven true, then he will be allowed to fight, Sakol said.

The Thai Fight event will be held in Pattaya on April 17 and Sakol said Buakaw still has time to clear up his legal problems.”
