After the June 9th tournament bout between Sean McKinnon and Daniel Kim fell apart at the last minute because Kim's blood work was not up to date it seemed things were ready to go for a second time. The bout was scheduled for September 8th at Journey Fight Series VII with the winner then fighting Preston Baptiste on November 3rd in the tournament semi-finals. Kim, however, has withdrawn from the bout for unknown reasons and promoter Trevor Smandych in now in search of a replacement.
