Challenger 7 "Heavy Duty" Results: Jesse Miles scores KO in return to action


Challenger 7 “Heavy Duty” took place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on Friday night. The event featured the return of Jesse “Smiles” Miles after over a year long layoff. Miles returned to face Italian fighter Guiseppe D'amuri, and it didn’t take long for Miles to let everyone know he was back. A vicious overhand right from Miles in the first round ended D’amuri’s night. It was a great return for Miles after lengthy layoff.

Hakeem Dawodu and Sheldon Gaines, two of North Americas rising fighters fought in an exciting bout. In the third round Gaines suffered a cut over his eye from an elbow and in the fourth round the fight was stopped. With the win Dawodu moves to 2-0 as a pro, while Gaines has a three fight winning streak snapped.

In the night’s other pro bouts Sandria Bastian returned from a lengthy layoff to win a razor thin split decision over Emily Wahby and Dejan Kajic of Iron City Muay Thai in Vancouver defeated Matt Krayko by unanimous decision.
