Lion Fight 25 will take place October 23 at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, CA. The night's main event will feature a rubber match between John Wayne Parr and Cosmo Alexandre and the co-main event will feature Jorina Baars vs. Martina Jindrova.
Parr and Alexandre have split a pair of fights. Their first fight took place in 2007 at Evolution 12 in Brisbane, Australia. Parr was able to out strike Alexandre in their first encounter and win a unanimous decision. Their second fight took place in 2009, once again under the Evolution banner. The promotion featured a one night 8-man tournament at Evolution 17, Parr and Alexandre met in the tournament semi-finals where Alexandre defeated Parr in the second round by (T)KO due to leg kicks. Alexandre also went on to win the Evolution 17 tournament that night.
Parr will enter his third fight with Alexandre having won 9 out of his last 10 bouts. His only loss in that span has been to rising star Toby Smith in mid 2014. Alexandre will enter the bout on a three fight win streak.
Jorina Baars gained notoriety in early 2014 by defeating MMA super star Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino in a one sided unanimous decision. She last competed for Lion Fight earlier this year when she defeated late replacement Chantal Ughi by (T)KO. On the line against Jindrova will be Baars Lion Fight Women's Welterweight Title.
