The Tatneft Cup 2015 semi-finals took place last night in Kazan, Russia. The event featured the semi-final bouts for the 154 lb (70 kg), 176 lb (80 kg), and 176 lb + (80 kg +) weight classes.
All of the fights but one went the distance. In the 176 lb + (80 kg +) weight class Roman Kryklia scored a first round (T)KO over Claudiu Istrate due to three knockdowns in one round. A big right hand knocked Istrate down a little more than 30 seconds into the fight. After Istrate got back up Kryklia immediately went on the attack with punches and knees and forced a standing 8 count. The final knockdown came courtesy of another right hand with a little over a minute to go in the first round. It was an impressive performance from Kryklia as he didn't allow for Istrate to mount any type of offensive attack.
