To expand on the rankings, all fighters born in North America are eligible. North America will include fighters from the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Rankings are based on P4P. Fighters not be inactive for any period longer than 6 months or they will be dropped from the rankings.
1. Kevin Ross (16-6)
Despite his split decision loss to Sittiask Por Sirichai at Battle in the Desert, it is going to be difficult for Ross to lose the number one spot. He hung in the fight with Por Sirichai, and showed he has the grit to fight through adversity after injuring his hand early, and suffering some bad cuts. What is next for Ross is not known yet, but with talks about West Coast vs. East Coast, it could be someone from the East Coast.
2. Romie Adanza (9-2)
Adanza recently competed in the WCK Muay Thai China 4-man tournament. He made it to the finals but lost a decision to the much larger Li Ning. It will be interesting to see if Adanza decides stick around a the higher weights where he will find more opponents, or he can move down back to the 115lb weight class where he will likely rule supreme, but it might be harder to find fights.Whatever he decides he is going to be trouble for anyone who steps into the ring with him, and event at the higher weights, his technique and skill should be enough to mitigate any size disadvantage he might face.
3. Ky Hollenbeck (9-0-1)
Hollenbeck has had an impressive year, unfortunately for fans most his fights have taken place outside the United States. He ended the year with a bang moving his record in 2010 to 7-0-1 by winning the 160lb WCK Muay Thai China tournament. He defeated Steve Moxon by unanimous decision in the finals to claim the tournament victory. A scheduled bout with Joe Schilling for the WBC National Super Middleweight Title will no longer take place as Hollenbeck is now scheduled to fight for a WBC World Title in April, possibly against Johan Lidon. The bout will be Hollemebeck's toughest challenge to date.
4. Stephen Richards (5-2)
Richards is currently recovering from a broken arm that he suffered in his impressive victory over Shawn Yarborough back in August. Richards plans to be back in action and more active in 2011.
5. Joe Schilling (9-1)
Schilling defeated a very game Chaz Mulkey at The Kings Birthday Celebration in Los Angeles, and is now the number one ranked super middleweight for the WBC National Muay Thai Title. With an impressive record of 9-1, the man they call Stitch em' Up throws lethal elbows, and has cut almost all of his opponents. Schilling's fight with Hollenbeck fell through, and will now face Chase Green for the interim WBC National Muay Thai Super Middleweight title. The winner should face current champion Jared Lara.
6. Jesse Miles (13-2)
Jesse Miles defeated Charlie Annonay at the Ringmasters event on Feb. 4th, the win was a good way to bounce back after his decision loss to Comso Alexandre at the Kings Cup in Thailand this past December. Miles is a serious threat to anyone in front of him in a ring, and it seems he is set to get more opportunities to show his skills off internationally.
7. Michael Mananquil (21-4)
Michael Mananquil avenged his split decision loss to Malaipet, by winning a unanimous decision in the re-match. Mananquil pushed the pace the entire fight, and even after getting knocked down in the second round he continued to push the pace and attack.
8. Matt Embree (16-3)
Matt Embree is one of the contestant set to fight in a stacked filed of the 140lb Journey Fight Series tournament. After dropping a close split decision to Coke Chunhawat in September, Embree will have the opportunity to avenge the loss with the addition of Coke to the tournament, that is if they meet. Going into the tournament Embree and Coke have to be considered favorites to meet in the finals as long as they don't meet in the opening round or end up on the same side of the bracket.
9. Shawn Yarborough (12-3-1)
Yarborough has now suffered back to back losses, after dropping a unanimous decision to Brandon Banda at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert". Yarborough seemed to relaxed and didn't attack much in the early rounds, when he did attack in the later rounds he seemed to impose his will on Banda, but he didn't keep it up until the fights end. With two losses in a row, Yarborough needs to do some tweaking and being attacking early in fights rather than later. No word on his next bout yet.
10. Anthony Nieves (5-1)
Nieves November fight fell through at Bangkok Fight Night VIII when the show was postponed until December. He looks to return to Muay Thai full time after dabbling in boxing in 2010 winning his pro debut, and taking time to develop his fight team.
