Jeri Sitzes was originally scheduled to face Misty Sutherland at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 2" on May 14th at Buffalo Bills Casino. An injury forced Sutherland to withdraw from the bout, and left Sitzes without an opponent with two weeks left before the fight. Muay Thai Authority has confirmed with Lion Fight Promotions that a replacement has been found.
U.K. fighter Sally McCarthy will step in on short notice to take on Sitzes. For those not familiar with Sitzes she is currently the WBC Muay Thai International Featherweight Woman's Champion, however, the WBC Muay Thai title will not be on the line against McCarthy, and both fighter have agreed to a modified rules fight with no elbows.
The fight is the only female fight booked for the May 14th event, but will likely provide some fireworks.
