Adanza and Hollenbeck win in the Philippines


WCK Muay Thai action took place at the World Resort in Manila, Philippines today and some notable Amercian's picked up some big wins.

Fil-American Romie Adanza defeated China's Huang Hai Gong by unanimous decision to win the WBC Muay Thai featherweight international title. The victory for Adanza is his second consecutive, in May he scored a devastating knockout of Thanit "Boom" Whattanaya. Next for Adanza is a fight with Demian Trainor of the U.K. at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 3".

American Ky Hollenbeck also kept his Muay Thai record unblemished by defeating Wong Foo Long of China. The fight was stopped at 2:11 of the third round as Hollenbeck teed off on his opponent leaving the referee no choice but to stop the fight. Hollenbeck will next face Gompet "Diamond Hands" DeJrat at Push Kick Promotions "World Stand Off" on July 16th. The fight with Long is the first since he captured the interim WBC Muay Thai middleweight world title at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 2" against Gregory Choplin.

Korean fighter K-Max won the four-man tournament after defeating Lu Jian Tsao of China in the finals. American Dorian Price and Fil-Australian fighter Michael Badata were the two other tournament fighters.

Also on the card Fil-Australian Reinhart Badato scored a first round KO over Saiful Merican after connecting with a huge left hook.
