Results: Stand Up Promotions "Oblonsky vs. Krause"

Commerce, CA -- Shane Oblonsky and Bryce Krause met in the night's main event for the MTAA super welterweight title. Krause was returning after a year and a half off from fighting, but it didn't show early on in the fight. In the first round Krause connected with a left hook that sent Oblonsky to the mat. Krause incorporated leg kicks throughout the entire fight and when they clinched was able to out muscle Oblonsky. In the third round Oblonsky landed several shots that seemed to have Krause hurt, but he was not able to capitalize. In the final rounds Oblonsky surprisingly decided to engage Krause in the clinch. Despite landing some decent shots from the clinch it was clear that Krause was the stronger fighter when they clinched as Krause connected with knees and elbows on several occasions. The fight ended up in the judges hands and all three scored the bout 48-46 for Krause making him the new MTAA super welterweight champion.

In the night's co-main event Artem Sharoshkin and Jose Palacios went the distance. The always active Sharoshkin seemed to have trouble finding his range as Palacios was able to avoid most of his attacks. Palacios used well timed counter to connect consistently when Sharoshkin tried to move in. Sharoshkin continued to press the entire fight, but Palacios continued to time his shots and connect. In the fourth round Sharoshkin recieved a standing 8 count after he signaled to the ref that something was wrong with his eye. Sharoshkin pulled back and tried to get the referees attention but the referee instructed them to continue, when Sharoshkin could not immediately continue the referee proceeded with the 8 count. In the fifth and final round Sharoshkin pressed forward and began to connect with his strikes but Palacios continued to fire back as well. The judges all scored the bout in favor of Palacios 48-46.

In the night's first pro fight Sheldon Gaines and Borzoo Honargohar put on an exciting show for the fans as their bout became a battle of attrition. Gaines showed he has improved his game since his last fight and used a well paced and timed attack against Honargohar. Gaines connected with well timed kicks and punches the first two rounds as well as catching several kicks by Honargohar and dumping him to the ground. The third round saw Honargohar come back aggresively as he seemed to turn things around with solid attacks from the clinch. In the fourth round both fighters were showing fatigue but Gaines continued to connect with solid shots and evade Honargohar as he continued to press the action. Gaines paced himself through the fifth round and continued to look solid as he attacked with elbows whenever Honargohar stepped in. All three judges scored the bout 48-47 for Gaines in the end.
