Yesterday Muay Thai is Life broke the news that Rami Ibrahim was forced to pull out of his fight against Ognjen Topic due to an injury. The bout was scheduled to take place on June 2nd in Virginia at CSC 33. Stepping in to replace Ibrahim is Sitan Gym stable mate Jay Matias.
Matias is a young up and coming fighter who made his pro debut in late 2011. He defeated Jake Mainini at Take-On Productions “Battle at Bally’s.” Matias has not fought since his pro debut, but is expected to present a challenge to Topic, who has earned a solid reputation in the North American Muay Thai community due to his traditional and technical style.
Muay Thai is Life also reported that Brian Collette and Kevin Brooks will also be fighting on the CSC 33 fight card. Collette made his pro debut earlier this year at Take-On Productions “Muay Thai at the Mecca” in New York. He defeated Marcus Taylor via first round knockout.
