Buakaw vs. Dzhabar Askerov to headline Muaythai Premier League inaugural event in September

Buakaw was supposed to make his American debut under the Stand Up Promotions banner but due to certain issues the fight was not able to materialize. It seems American Muay Thai fans will get their chance to see Buakaw fight after all. The recently announced Muaythai Premier League is looking to make a big impact with its first event, a re-match between Buakaw and Dzhabar Askerov will head line their inaugural event which will take place September 2nd in Los Angeles, CA. Buakaw defeated Askerov via decision in 2007 in a K-1 Max event.

Also expected to take place on the card will be a re-match between John Wayne Parr, and Baxter Humby. The pair fought back in 2002, a fight which Parr won after Humby's corner threw in the towel in the third round. Humby has stated he didn't agree with his corner throwing in the towel, and called out John Wayne Parr earlier this year.

Kings Cup 8 man tournament set for Dec. 5th with Yodsanklai, Pique, Askerov, Miles, and more

The King's Cup is set to take place on Nov. 5th at Sanamluang in Bangkok, Thailand in honor of the King's 83rd birthday. The format for the event will be an eight man tournament with representatives from eight different countries. The list of competitors is listed below, a discrepancy to note on the fight poster is that Jesse Miles from Canada is listed as Marcus Oberg and from Sweeden and vice versa.

This is a pretty stacked field of competitors and it will definitely not be an easy task for any of these fighters to come out on top in this tournament.Of course the most notable fighter is Yodsanklai, he is coming off a split decision loss to John Wayne Parr.

Fighters in Tournament:
Yodsanklai Fairtex (Thailand)
Marco Pique (Holland)
