Glory announces deal with Spike TV

Glory has announced today that they have signed a deal with Spike TV. They are expected to premier on the network in Fall of 2013 with 2-hour events on select Saturday nights.

Glory started their push to the American market earlier this year with the Road to Glory USA tournaments hosted in conjunction with several smaller promotions. This past weekend Glory held the first official Glory event in the United States. Glory 9 took place in New York and featured a stacked and action packed fight card.

For those not familiar with Spike TV, they are the network that the UFC began with when they originally aired The Ultimate Fighter. Currently Spike TV airs Bellator, who can easily be considered the second largest MMA promotion. It will be interesting to see if they can pair up Kickboxing and MMA to fight fans, but regardless this signing is pretty big for Glory.

You can read the press release below.

New York, NY, June 27, 2013 – Spike TV will expand its sports line-up with the addition of GLORY Sports International's (GSI) brand of kickboxing premiering in Fall, 2013.
