Muay Thai National Championships Press Release



Stand Up Promotions and the Commerce Casino proudly bring to you “Muay Thai National Championships” on Sunday, September 26  at 4pm.  This is the long awaited return of Stand Up Promotions after their successful event when they brought MTAA World Champion and Thai superstar Saenchai Sorkingstar against K1 Max Champion Tetsuya Yamato.  Also on the card that night was WBC World Champion Kaoklai Kannorising vs. Japan’s best, Magnum Sakai.  

This time around Stand Up presents another Thai Champion Coke “Phanuwat” Chunhawat vs. 2007’s IFMA Gold Medalist and Northern Thailand Champion Matt Embree in a WBC National Championship fight.  The card will also feature 5 Southern California vs. Northern California bouts as 10 men fight for more than a win, but for the right to claim who is the “Best in the West”. 

The co-main event will feature Joe Schilling from the Yard (Los Angeles) vs. Ryan Roy of Fairtex Muay Thai (San Francisco) fighting for the pro MTAA National Championship.  Also fighting for an MTAA National Championship are amateurs Beto Rodriguez  of Team Flores (La Puente) facing Bounthong Syvanthong of Pacific Ring Sports (Oakland). 

Be sure to check out the rest of the card which features rising stars and some of California’s best fighters.  Also fighting to be the “Best in the West” are: 
Yamato Miura (The Yard, L.A.) vs.  Guston Bolanos (Fairtex, S.F.)
Glen Spencer (Sidyodtong, L.A.) vs. Lawrence Ward (Fairtex, S.F.)
Andy Lazaritus (Sidyodtong, L.A.) vs.  Eric Faria (San Francisco)

The card will then feature another MTAA National Championship bout between rising star Shane Oblonsky facing off against MMA Veteran Anthony McDavitt.  Two of Southern California’s best featherweights, Jesse Magusen and Oscar Sanchez, will also compete for an MTAA National Championship.

Chris Beary vs. Daniel Hwang
Brian Bruns vs. Ernesto Galicia
Chris Adkarian vs. Cruz Ronald 
Matt Ortiz vs. Ryan Bonello

This will be a historic Muay Thai event no one should miss.  Be sure to take part in the action at the Commerce Casino on September 26.  VIP tickets are $85 and Ringside tickets are $55.  These are buy one, get one ½ off.  General admission is $35.
