War of the Heroes 8 results - Chunhawat takes home Split Decision

Coke Chunhawat and Jose Palacios met in an entertaining Muay Thai bout. Early on Palacios seemed to be in his groove as he was able to knock Chunhawat down in the first round. Chunhawat was able to survive the first round that favored Palacios and get back into the fight. The fight went all five round and neither fighter was ready to relinquish to exhaustion. Some effective clinch work helped Chunhawat, and in the end the fight could have been easily declared a draw, but the judges scored it in favor of Chunhawat as he took home a split decision victory with scores of 48-47, 49-46, and 47-48.

Bryan Petro and Roy Corona met with the rights to represent the U.S. at the IMFA Muay Thai Championships in Thaliand on the line. Petro waisted no time asserting himself in the first round, landing a hard throw, and cornering Corona and landing several heavy punches in the first round. The fight went into the second round but Petro didn't waist any time as he back up Corona into the ropes and unleashed a flurry of punches that ended Corona's night.

In other Muay Thai action Brandon Banda was able to take home a TKO victory of a game Paul Brown, but in the end Banda was just too much for Brown and the TKO came in the fourth round. Chris Aldea also won via TKO after wearing Sheldon Gaines down and finishing him off in the third round.
