Bangkok Fight Night VIII Results

by William C. Felch
With the rescheduling of this event from its original November date, the event lost a few heavy hitters from it's original card. One being Anthony "NIGHTMARE" Nieves. With every ones excitement for Nieves' return to Muay Thai after his pro boxing debut and a few months of much needed rest, many fans were a bit disappointed. Many of the originally scheduled Thai fights were canceled and the spots filled with eager MMA fighters ready to battle. The show started off a bit bumpy with around and hour or so delay having to wait for medics to be on site.

The first Thai fight betweenBangkok Boxings Osagyefo Holmes and Contemporary Martial Arts Andrew Ballenger was back and forth with both fighters landing some good shots. In the end Ballenger was the victor.

Knuckle Up/ Team "NIGHTMARE" fighter Eddie “Showtime” Walker vs. Bangkok Boxing's Mike McClendon. Both fighters put on an explosive show, each landing big shots. In the fourth round Walker put down the sky-scraping McClendon with a hard right hand to end the fight with a KO.This was the Knockout of the night for sure.

In the final Muay Thai fight of the evening,Contemporary Martial Arts' Ryan Peace made short work of Tim Gawenda who was making his pro Muay Thai debut. Peace ended Gawenda quick in the first round.

Congrats to all the winners and here's to a speedy recovery to all the fighters. Thanks for putting on a great show. A big thanks to all the sponsors that help keep these events going.
