Ibrahim brings a pro record of 11-6-2. Fighting out of Sitan Gym in Philadelphia, PA Ibrahim looks to best a filed which already includes some very talented fighters. Ibrahim is coming off a draw in Thailand, the which was his first of the year went the distance and to the surprise of some was declared a draw by the judges.
The other six fighters confirmed for the tournament are Justin Greskiewicz, Mark DeLuca, Matt Embree, Josh Palmer, Nate Smandych, and Parwez Ghulam.
Greskiewicz ended 2010 on a two fight win streak with both of those fights coming in New York at the Friday Night Fight series. Before the wins streak Greskiewicz fought to a controversial draw with Byoung Ku-Park in an IKKC International title bout, a fight which many observers feel he won.
DeLuca has already gotten things going for 2011 recording a come from behind decision victory of Kevin Molina at Friday Night Fights season opener on January 14th. DeLuca survived an early knockdown and rallied back in the final three rounds to score a knockdown of his own and take home a unanimous decision.Embree is probably best known in the states for his close battle with Coke Chunhawat, he lost a narrow split decision back in September. Fighting out of Ontario, Embree looks to finish fights as 8 of his 16 pro wins have come via KO.
Smandych is currently the least experienced of the fighters announced, with only three professional bouts to his name. However, he holds over 30 amateur bouts under his belt, and has won several WKA and IKF amateur titles.
Palmer is the most experienced of the current tournament fighters with fifty pro fights. Of his 35 wins, 25 have come by KO. Palmer also holds two WMF titles.
Ghulam has only tasted defeat once in his eight fight career, and of his sevens wins five have come via KO. Ghulam fights out of Shaolin Muay Thai, where he trains under Canadian great Shane "Shaolin" Cambell.
Aside from the tournament bouts, the card with be filled out with a few super fights, and some amateur fights as well.
