Stand Up Promotions "Schilling vs. Green" recap

Commerce Casino, Los Angeles -- Joe Schilling (10-1) continued his streak of dominating performances by defeating Chase Green (10-2) via TKO in the first round of their WBC Muay Thai National Super Middleweight interim title bout. From the start of the fight Schilling was pressing the action. A teep to the face sent Green down, but no eight count was given, until a few moments later when Schilling caught him with a few punches. After the standing eight count it was the beginning of the end, smelling blood Schilling pounced on Green and unleashed a flurry of strikes until Green finally hit the canvas for good. The end came at 2:13 of the first round. With the win Schilling is now undoubtedly the number one super middleweight in the United States. This should set up a bout with current WBC Muay Thai National Super Middleweight Champion Jared Lara, however, if you ask Joe Schilling, he is fairly confident that Jared Lara does not want to fight him and will likely vacate his title.

In what had to be the fight of the night Artem Sharoshkin (2-0) defeated Borzoo Honargohar (4-3) via unanimous decision. The fight was action packed from the beginning with both Sharoshkin and Honargohar trading shots. The tide started to really turn in Sharoshkin's favor in the third round when he connected with a spinning elbow that seemed to knock Honargohar off balance, from that point on Sharoshkin controlled the action. Going into the fifth round it was pretty obvious that Honargohar would have to finish the fight to win, and with about a minute left in the round Honargohar left it all out in the ring as he went after Sharoshkin with punches, it got the crowd on their feet, but in the end it was too little too late. All three judges scored the fight in favor of Sharoshkin.

In the night's first pro fight Jose Palacios (4-2) scored a stunning head kick knockout of Joey Pagliuso (2-3-2). The fight was back and fourth most of the way with both fighters being very active. Going into the fourth round it seemed the fight was on its way to the score cards until Palacios connected with a perfectly timed head kick that sent Pagliuso crashing down to the canvas and bringing an end to the fight at 2:45 of the fifth round.
