As originally reported by Muay Thai Authority a bout between Cosmo Alexandre and Muay Thai legend Sakmongkol has been officially announced to be headlining "Battle in the Desert 3" by Lion Fight Promotions. Cosmo will be fighting his second consecutive fight for Lion Fight Promotions, his previous was a unanimous decision victory over Cyrus Washington at "Battle in the Desert 2" this past May. Sakmongkol will be making his debut for the promotion, the Muay Thai legend now teaches and trains in Broomfield, CO. Notable victories on Sakmongkol's resume include Jongsana Fairtex, Ramon Dekkers, and John Wayne Parr.
A few other bouts have been made official for the event, the first being a WBC Muay Thai Light Heavyweight U.S. National Title fight between Joe Schilling and Brandon Banda. Schilling and Banda will be squaring off for the newly vacant 175lb title. Previously Schilling had been fighting at 168lbs where he claimed the WBC Muay Thai Super Middleweight U.S. National interim title this past March. Banda recently defeated former WBC Muay Thai Light Heavyweight U.S. National champion Shawn Yarborough at "Battle in the Desert".
Chaz Mulkey will also be re-matching Remy Bonnel, the last time the pair fought was back in August of 2010. Bonnel defeated Mulkey via unanimous decision in their first fight. Finally Romie Adanza will also be in action as he takes on England's Damien Trainor.
Other fighters scheduled to fight on the card but are currently awaiting opponents include Ky Hollenbeck, Sittisak Por Sirichai, and Anthony Castrejon.
Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 3" will take place on August 20th at Buffalo Bill's Star of the Desert Arena in Primm, NV.
