Current WBC Muay Thai Mexico middleweight champion Luis Bio will be fighting Erik Mejia at Xtreme Combat 8 in Mexico City on May 12th. Mejia is the current WBC Muay Thai Mexico super welterweight champion and will be looking to keep Bio from earning his third consecutive victory.
Bio was last in action January of 2012 when he defeated Brian Hernandez at Xtreme Combat 7 in Mexico City. On the line against Mejia will be the Xtreme Combat 154lb title that Bio won when he defeated Hernandez.
Xtreme Combat events feature both Muay Thai and MMA bouts, therefore all bouts are fought in a cage. With the recent announcement of the Boonchu event in Australia in which Muay Thai fights will be fought in a cage with 4oz MMA gloves we have to make sure there is no confusion. The Muay Thai fights at Xtreme Combat are fought with boxing gloves.
