The first super middleweight rankings are long over due. The division has seen a lot of changes in the last year and currently none of these top five has fights scheduled. Hopefully that changes in the future.
Valtellini hasn’t fought since March first round knockout of former WBC Muay Thai National Champion Shawn Yarborough under the Friday Night Fights banner. Valtellini has finished all six of his professional fights by (T)KO. Fans might think he is simply known for his power, but Valtellini has show he has superb technique to accompany is power. When Valtellini will be in action again is currently unknown.
2. Dorian Price (21-8)
Price has spent the past last year in Thailand training and fighting. He has gone 8-2 in that span. Price was set to fight Mostafa Abdollahi and Faizal Bin Ramli, but each of those fights fell through. Price will be returning to the U.S. soon, but still has his eyes set on a fight with Faizal.
3. Anthony Nieves (7-1)
Nieves followed up his October 2011 KO victory over Chris Clodfelter with a second round (T)KO of Anthony Ford at West War - Battle On The Western Front in Georgia. Most recently he was set to fight in Dubai but the event was postponed. When he will step back in the ring is currently unknown.
4. Brett Hlavacek (6-0)
Hlavacek recently defeated Harry Baker in England to win a WBC International Challenge bout. The win over Baker followed up his decision victory over Strahinja Ivanovic at Take-On's event in May of this year and a (T)KO of Chris Clodfelter at Take-On Productions “Muay Thai at the Mecca” which took place at the Ballroom in Madison Square Garden this past March. Like most other fighters in the weight class his next bout is currently unknown.
5. Cyrus Washington (49-21-1)
Washington has had a few bumps in the road recently after his sting on the reality TV show “The Challenger Muay Thai” he has gone 1-2-1. He lost a controversial draw against Stephen Richards last October, a bout which many feel Washington should have gotten the decision for. Washington then won a WMF title in Uzbekistan, since his WMF win Washington has lost his last two bouts. The first was a (T)KO stoppage due to a cut against Nieky Holzken in Suriname and the second was a first round (T)KO to Ky Hollenbeck in San Francisco this past April. Currently Washington has been focusing on training fighters including a few UFC veterans and his return to the ring is currently unknown.
