The Canadian duo of Simon Marcus and Matt Embree were in China yesterday to compete on Foshan Championships. Marcus faced Jiang Chunpeng in the night's main event. The two had a scuffle a pre-fight press conference the day before so tensions were high leading up to the fight. Marcus and Chunpeng were involved in a tactical fight. Chunpeng tried to press the fight early, but Marcus offered a nice counter attack. As the fight wore on it began to swing in to Marcus's favor and in the clinch he clearly was the stronger of the two. In the end he took home a decision victory to improve to 35-0-1.
Embree faced Zhang Haishun in his bout and it was a one sided affair. Embree put on a clinic in the clinch consistently connecting with elbows and knees en route to a decision victory. A nice way for Embree to bounce back after his decision loss to Sean Kearney.
