Liam Harrison coming to America to face Justin Greskiewicz at The Warriors Cup XII

Promoter Chris Tran is hosting the first full rules Muay Thai event in New Jersey on July 23rd. The Warriors Cup XII was originally scheduled to have a main event featuring Coke Chunhawat vs. Rami Ibrahim, but due to contractual obligations Coke had to withdraw from the bout. Despite losing a great talent such as Coke from the card Chris Tran has made sure to replace Coke with another great talent, Liam Harrison.

Now scheduled for the main event Liam Harrison will make the trek to from the U.K. to New Jersey to take on Philadelphia's Justin Greskiewicz. Harrison is coming off a decision loss to Saenchai, but none the less is considered one of the best Muay Thai fighters in the world. Greskiewicz is also coming off a close decision loss to Turan Hasanov in April. With Harrison making his American debut it should bring some well deserved attention to The Warriors Cup XII.

Friday Night Fights Recap - Hasanov wins via split decision, Valtellini wins by TKO

by Peeloshmee Deonarain

New York, NY -- Turan Hasanov and Justin Greskiewicz met in the nights main event in a re-match. Greskiewicz had previously defeated Hasanov via TKO due to leg kicks. Hasanov pressed the action, coming forward with big punches looking to knock Greskiewicz out. He succeeded in pressing Greskiewicz up against the ropes several times, but Greskiewicz covered up or slipped the punches. Greskiewicz mixed it up throwing punches in combination with kicks and won the battle in the clinch. He did not utilize the leg kicks that won him the first fight as much this time around, but when he did Hasanov blocked or moved out of the way. Greskiewicz was able to dodge many of Hasanov's punches and caused him to come out in the second round with a bloody nose. The judges gave the win to Hasanov via split decision with the scores being 48-47 Hasanov, 48-47 Greskiewicz, 48-47 Hasanov. The fight was extremely close and some could argue that Greskiewicz deserved the nod.

Josh Palmer talks opening round win, and semi-finals of Journey Fight Series tournament

Josh Palmer defeated Mark DeLuca this past weekend to earn his spot in the semi-finals of the Journey Fight Series 140lb tournament. Josh was kind enough to answer a few questions for Muay Thai Authority about his win, the semi-finals, and what he has coming up.

MTA: You advanced past the first round of the tournament by winning a decision over Mark DeLuca. Were you pretty confident that fight was yours when it went to the judges cards?

Josh: Yes, once I got the cut 1st cut and the 8 count on him, I knew he couldn't win, all I had to do was stay on my feet pretty much. That's why I backed off in the last round , I didn't want to hurt him anymore or risk making a silly mistake.
