BREAKING NEWS: Malaipet replaces Kit Cope at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 4"

Kit Cope was set to make his return to Muay Thai at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 4" this weekend against Jose Palacios, however, the Nevada State Athletic Comission (NSAC) did not clear Cope. Muay Thai Authority has been informed by Lion Fight Promotions that Malaipet Sasiprapa will step in to replace Cope on short notice. Once again Malaipet proves that he is willing to fight anyone, anywhere, anytime.

The reason for Cope not being licensed is currently unknown. Cope has had issues with the NSAC before, in 2007 he tested positive for the anabolic steroid Boldenone and had his license suspended by the NSAC.

Malaipet last competed in August when he dropped a unanimous decision to Chike Lindsay, despite being in what is the worst stretch of his career Malaipet is always ready to fight. In July he took a kickboxing bout against highly regarded UK fighter Tim Thomas on one days notice, fighting Thomas to a draw.

Update: The bout between Malaipet and Jose Palacios will be contested for the WBC Muay Thai welterweight national title.
