Muaythai Premier League's 4th event postponed due to Thailand floods

The Muaythai Premier League's (MPL) fourth event was scheduled to take place December 5th in Thailand in Celebartion of the Kings Birthday. Unfortunately the floods that have occurred in Thailand have forced the postponement of the event. The event is now expected to take place in early 2012.

The MPL made its debut in September of 2011 and has held three events which have featured some of the best fighters in the world. Buakaw made his American debut under the MPL banner as well as a host of other fighters such as Artem Levin and Nathan Corbett.

Below is the official press release by Warrior Caste Productions, the production company of the MPL.

Recent flooding in Thailand requires Warrior Caste Productions Inc. to reschedule MPL’s round 4 event in Thailand

TORONTO, CANADA -- November 14, 2011 – Due to the unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances of the recent flooding in Thailand, Warrior Caste Productions Inc. has announced that Round 4 of the MPL, originally scheduled to take place on December 5th, in honour of His Royal Majesty the King of Thailand's 84th Birthday, will now be postponed to a later date. The professional MuayThai event which was initially scheduled to take place in December will now likely be scheduled for early in the New Year. An official announcement of the new date will be confirmed in conjunction with the World MuayThai Council, the world-governing body for the sport of MuayThai under the directive of the Royal Thai government.

Warrior Caste Productions team members would like to extend their deepest condolences to all the families, individuals, and businesses which have been affected, and wish Thailand a full and healthy recovery from the hardships brought on by this catastrophe.

Warrior Caste Productions looks forward to visiting the motherland of the sport with the MPL event in the future. Due to this adjustment of schedule, the remaining league events will be shifted, and the season will be extended by one month to accommodate this transition.
