Philadelphia’s Justin Greskiewicz will be looking to follow up his victory over Bernie Mendieta in the UK earlier this year by defeating Malaipet at Lion Fight Muay Thai VI. Justin took some time from his busy schedule to answer a few questions regarding his upcoming fight. All of the action goes down May 12th in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
MTA: You have an upcoming fight with Malaipet, how has training been going?
Justin: Training for this fight has been great. My coach went to Thailand for the last few weeks, which was hard. But, I'll have some time to work with him before I go and I have been working harder than ever and I'm in better shape than ever before.
MTA: How familiar are you with Malaipet and his fight style?
Justin: Malaipet? I've heard of him before. No, I'm just kidding. I've seen him fight many times and I am pretty familiar with his style.
MTA: Is there anything you see in Malaipet's fight style that you feel can play to your advantage?
Justin: I know that with the way fights are scored here, I can push the pace throughout the fight and that will help.
MTA: You have a few inches in Malaipet; do you feel your size will come into play at all in the fight?
Justin: He might be a few inches shorter. He's fought all different weights. He's used to fighting bigger opponents. But, it might help me a bit.
MTA: You recently defeated Bernie Mendieta in the UK, after a big win like that do you feel that carrying that momentum helps you prepare for a fight against someone like Malaipet?
Justin: My fight against Bernie was a good one. He is a real tough opponent and no matter what I put on him, he kept coming. It was a good test for me and I felt sharp. It definitely helps my confidence for this fight. Still, that's a decent break for me; sometimes I'm fighting every few weeks.
MTA: What can fans expect to see from you come fight time?
Justin: You can expect the best me you've ever seen. I'm in full on beast mode and I'm coming to bring it.
MTA: Can we get a prediction for the fight?
Justin: I predict that I’ll be shocking a lot of people and taking home another green strap.
