Eduardo Maiorino de Morais passes away at age 33


Sad news to report from the Muay Thai world. Brazilian Heavyweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing veteran Eduardo Maiorino de Morais has passed away at the age of 33. Maiorino suffered a heart attack after training in his hometown of Campo Grande, Brazil and passed away on December 23, 2012. The news was first reported by Brazilian website ImperioMMA.com.

Eduardo fought internationally and faced opponents such as Steve McKinnon, Duke Roufus, Rick Roufus, and Steven Banks. Eduardo also competed in MMA where he faced current UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos before he was signed by the UFC. Eduardo had relocated to Oakland in late 2011and was set to competed in the popular Las Vegas based Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 4", but the bout never took place after his opponent fell ill before the event.
