Jessie Magusen interview and training shoot for M-One "Reborn" fight against Adam Rothweiler

Jessie Magusen will be making his professional debut at M-One “Reborn” on May 16th at San Manuel Casino. Welcoming Magusen to the pro ranks will be Adam Rothweiler. Know for his entertaining style as an amateur, nothing less is expected from Magusen as he makes his pro debut. Jessie was kind enough to take some time from his training to answer a few questions for Muay Thai Authority about his upcoming bout against Rothweiler.

Make sure to check out Scott Hirano's training shoot of Jessie at the end of the interview.

MTA: Jessie you are making your pro debut in May at M-One reborn, are you excited?

Jessie: Yes I am extremely excited, wish it was already May 16th.

MTA: You've been fighting as an amateur for quite some time why did you finally decide to go pro?

Jessie: Well after my last amateur fight which (didn’t go the way I had hoped) I was having a very difficult time wondering weather I was going to continue to fight or not it was a time of a lot of questioning and self reflection and after all the thinking about I thought that I would have done all of the things I did for nothing if I just quit. So my trainers and myself decided that fighting my next fight as a pro would be the right push and motivation that I need to get that spark back and I feel that it has.

MTA: You are fighting Adam Rothweiler, how familiar are you with him?

Jessie: I wasn’t familiar with him before this fight as he mostly fights mma, but I saw him recently fight at Pechanga casino fight and I think it will be a good fight.

MTA: If you had to pick one strength for yourself going into this fight what would it be?

Jessie: I think my biggest strength would be my mental toughness I think no matter how hard or difficult a fight is for me I know that I have a chance to win as long as there is time on the clock which is why I feel like can always push through anything going on in there.

MTA: You’re known for your exciting fight style. Is entertaining the crowd the most important thing when you step into the ring?

Jessie: Yes entertaining the crowd is important, they are the ones that keep the sport going and provide us with the venues to showcase our skills.

MTA: Can we get a prediction for the upcoming fight?

Jessie: Prediction for the fight, crazy, exciting, everybody will get their moneys worth for sure.

MTA: For fight fans not familiar with you can you give them a little background like when and why you started training?

Jessie: I started about 7 years ago and actually had my 1st fight about a month after I started and haven’t looked back ever since. The reason I started wasn’t even really to fight it was just for fun but I went to my 1st event fell in love with it and decided that I wanted to do that.

MTA: Any words for your supporters?

Jessie: To all my supporters thank you for everything all the cheers, hugs, well wishes. Remember that if you believe in yourself and work hard you can do anything you set your mind to, and come down to San Manuel Casino and you guys will get to see some real great Muay Thai action on May 16th.
