KO of the Week: Yoshihiro Sato vs. Buakaw Banchamek

Buakaw has seemed invincible over the last few years. Fans will say it is because he is the best, critics will say it is because he is not facing fighters of his caliber. Going into his July 7, 2008 K-1 fight against Yoshihiro Sato, Buakaw had already defeated Sato twice with one of those wins being a KO. The third fight between these two was nothing but excitement. The first two rounds saw both fighters go toe to toe with each landing nice combinations. Buakaw seemed to prefer mixing in low kicks with his punches, while Sato seemed to favor knees to the body with his punches.

Going into the third round it was anyone's fight and Sato seized the moment. He immediately pressed the action on Buakaw. A few seconds past the midway point of the round Sato connected with a knee to the body that seemed to zap the energy out of Buakaw. A leg kick from Sato followed and then a right hook that sent Buakaw down to the canvas face first. It was a spectacular win for Sato. Enjoy this KO as it is a rare sight to see Buakaw like this.
