Stand-Up Promotions and The Commerce Casino proudly bring to you the “Muay Thai National Championships” on March 5th, 2011. This event follows a historic year for Stand-Up Promotions, who brought us living legend and MTAA world champion Saenchai Sinbi Gym, who fought for the first time in the United States last March. Stand-Up Promotions also hosted the “King’s Birthday Celebration” in December which earned the “fight of the year” award when Kevin Ross defeated Malaipet Sitprapom. This year proves to be no different as we get it started with a WBC Muay Thai National Title fight and MTAA super fights which include 12 action-packed bouts.
The main event of the evening will feature United States superstar and MTAA’s National Champion Joe “Stich ‘Em Up” Schilling as he takes on Texas’ best and Saekson Muay Thai’s very own Chase Green for the WBC Super Middleweight Interim title. Joe has been finishing his opponents en route to earn his title shot. Chase Green is a technical fighter who is hungry to take home the belt and stands in Joe’s way. This fight promises to be the fight of the night.
Also on the card is rising star Artem “The Russian Experiment” Sharoshkin as he faces Boorzoo Honargohar. Artem is an aggressive technician who always puts on a show and Boorzoo promises non-stop action, which will make for an entertaining match-up.
The third professional fight of the evening will have Southern California facing off against Northern California, as Joey Pagliuso of Riverside, Ca. will take on Jose Palacios of San Francisco, Ca. Both fighters have great amateur experience and are looking to move their way up in both the WBC and MTAA pro rankings.
The rest of the under card features some of United States’ top amateurs who are looking to get a shot at an MTAA National Title. Sevak Ohanjanyan will fight against Beto Rodriguez for the Sports Authority of Thailand’s Muay Thai Cup. The winner of the match will get a title shot against MTAA Super Welterweight Champion Buanthong Syvathong. Combat Sports Academy’s Gaston Bolanos will be facing off against rough and ready Alfred Kashakyan. Both fighters are very aggressive; this fight is set to be a war.
Also on the card:
Oscar Sanchez vs Bell Tran
Jonathan Puu vs Howard Jeon
Anthony Acosta vs Jose Flores
Charles Bisset vs Jason Rzepka
George Amiryan vs Marcos Guevarra
To date, Stand-Up Promotions has not failed to bring a consistently entertaining lineup at each of their events. They continue to elevate the standard of Muay Thai in the United States. The doors open at 4pm, and first bout begins at 6pm. Don’t miss it!
