Updated North American Men's Rankings 5/25/2011

There is some shake up in the rankings. Most notably the rise of Ky Hollenbeck who has now claimed the number one spot, and dropping Kevin Ross down to number two. It's a tight race for the number one spot which in the coming months could continue to flip flop back and forth.

1. Ky Hollenbeck (10-0-1)
Hollenbeck has jumped into the number one position after defeating two world ranked fighters in back to back fights. First Hollenbeck took on Vuyisile Colossa in China in late April and was able to snag a unanimous decision from "The Cheetah". Hollenbeck then faced Gregory Choplin for the WBC Muay Thai interim middleweight world title at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 2". After pressing forward the entire fight and stifling Choplin's technical attack Hollenbeck once again walked away with a unanimous decision, and the WBC belt. Next for Hollenbeck is a fight with Gornpet "Diamond Hands" DeJrat at Push Kick Promotions "World Stand Off" on July 16th.

2. Kevin Ross (17-6)
Kevin Ross got back to his winning ways by stopping Mark DeLuca at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 2". Ross was able to impose his will, and eventually earned a doctor stoppage. The win now sets up the stage for his August showdown with Saenchai Sinibi Gym at Stand Up Promotions "World Championship Muay Thai". If Ross can defeat arguably the best fighter in the world, then the number one spot in the rankings would likely have have his name.

3. Romie Adanza (9-2)
Adanza competed in the WCK Muay Thai China 4-man tournament in December. He made it to the finals but lost a decision to the much larger Li Ning. It will be interesting to see if Adanza decides stick around at the higher weights where he will find more opponents, or he can move down back to the 115lb weight class where he will likely rule supreme, but it might be harder to find fights. Adanza is set to fight Thanit Watthanaya on May 28th in his first action of 2011 for WCK Muay Thai at Pala Casino.

4. Joe Schilling (10-1)
Schilling dismantled Chase Green to win the interim WBC National Super Middleweight Title back in March. Now he hopes to get some more high profile fights. Rumors of a match with current WBC National Super Middleweight champion Jared Lara are circulating, but if you ask Schilling he doubts that fight will happen as he feels Lara is ducking him. Rumors of a bout against Kaoklai have dismissed as Kaoklai is now set to face Simon Marcus in August, currently nothing is known about Schilling's next fight except that it will likely be in August.

5. Jesse Miles (13-2)
Jesse Miles defeated Charlie Annonay at the Ringmasters event on Feb. 4th, the win was a good way to bounce back after his decision loss to Comso Alexandre at the Kings Cup in Thailand this past December. Miles is a serious threat to anyone in front of him in the ring, and should get more opportunities to show his skills off internationally.

6. Michael Mananquil (21-4)
Michael Mananquil avenged his split decision loss to Malaipet, by winning a unanimous decision in the re-match. Mananquil pushed the pace the entire fight, and even after getting knocked down in the second round he continued to push the pace and attack.Currently no fights are scheduled for Mananquil, but a good match-up that would pit American vs. American would be against Kevin Ross.

7. Matt Embree (17-3)
Matt Embree defeated Rami Ibrahim in the opening round of the Journey Fight Series tournament, and earned a re-match with Coke Chunhawat. It will be interesting to see what game plan Embree tries to use against Coke after dropping the first bout due to a very close split decision. The fight is set to take place June 11th.

8. Steven Banks (13-0)
Banks is the only big boy on this list, he possesses technicality and power. He recorded a big TKO win over Eduardo Morais in December to win the WBC International Super Heavyweight Title. There isn't many super heavyweights for Banks to match up with so to continuously stay active a drop down to heavyweight might be necessary.

9. Shawn Yarborough (13-3-1)
Yarborough ended a two fight skid by winning a very close, and somewhat controversial split decision over Chris Romulo at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 2". Despite the win Yarborough still did not look like his old self. The judgment is still out on if the "old" Shawn Yarborough will return to action any time soon. The smaller Romulo out muscled him in the clinch, and Yarborough was fatigued by the final round. With the win Yarborough stays in the rankings but drops down.

 10. Cyrus Washington (47-17)
Cyrus Washington is probably known for his highlight reel knockouts. Despite having lost a unanimous decision to Cosmo Alexandre at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 2" he pulls in at the number 10 spot. Washington is expected to be fighting is some bare knuckle fights in Burma, but some bigger news for the Michigan native could be on the way.

*After his loss to Turan Hasanov previously ranked #10 fighter Justin Grewkiewicz drops out of the rankings.
