Results and Recap: The Warriors Cup XV


The Warriors Cup XV took place this past Saturday, September 29th in Rahway, New Jersey. The main event featured a bout between Ognjen Topic and Rami Ibrahim and both fighters came to put on a show. It was clear both men wanted the WBC Muay Thai US National Super Featherweight Title that was on the line. Topic used his kicks early on to score and Ibrahim answered with punches. Through the first two rounds it was an exciting back and forth fight. In the third round Topic came out looking to finish and a perfectly timed knee ended the night. Ibrahim him the canvas, but despite being able to get back to his feet it was clear he was on wobbly legs and the bout was stopped. The end came 42 seconds into the third round.

In the co-main event Marcus Fisher took home a unanimous decision over Maksim Ishkov. Fisher used a kick heavy attack to out score Ishkov and it was clear from the start of the fight that Fisher was step ahead of his opponent.

Chris Mauceri made his pro debut against Jay Matias in a very exciting fight. Both fighters let their elbows fly for two rounds, but it was Mauceri who drew blood. He opened up a cut on Matias and in the second round the bout was stopped by the doctor. Matias is regarded as a hot prospect in Muay Thai and the stoppage win is big for Mauceri in his pro debut.

In the night’s first pro bout Liam Tarrant scored a (T)KO victory over Kevin Molina after connecting with a solid elbow to the head and in a notable amateur fights Greg Rowe defeated Omar Estevez by unanimous decision.
