Results and Recap: Glory 3

Glory 3 took place in Italy this yesterday and the 154lb tournament did not disappoint. In the quarterfinals of the tournament Giorgio Petrosyan defeated Ky Hollenebck, Sanny Dahlbeck defeated Yoshihiro Sato, and Robin van Roosmalen defeated Tim Thomas by (T)KO to advance to the semi-finals, while Davit Kiria defeated Shemsi Beqiri by decision to punch his ticket to the semi-finals.

In the tournament semi-finals Giorgio Petrosyan out pointed Davit Kiria en route to a decision victory. Despite Kiria’s aggression, Petrosyan was too slick and used a slick counter attack to continuously score. In the other semi-final bout it seemed Sanny Dahlbeck had the antidote for Robin van Roosmalen’s relentless attack and through most of the first round Dhalbeck was able to keep van Roosmalen at bay. With a few second left at the end of the first van Roosmalen was able to get inside and knock Dahlbeck down. The second round played much like the first as van Roosmalen was having trouble getting inside on Dahlbeck, but once again as the round was coming to an end he was able to get inside and unleash a flurry of punches and knock Dahlbeck down again. The bout finally ended in the third round when van Roosmalen knocked Dahlbeck down with body shot and he was unable to continue.

In the tournament finals Giorgio Petrosyan out pointed van Roosmalen en route to a decision victory to take home the tournament crown and the $300,000 prize. Despite his efforts van Roosmalen was unable to get inside on Petrosyan and land his powerful strikes. Petrosyan proved once again why he is considered the best Kickboxer in the world.
