Vladimir Moravcik wins I-1 World Muay Thai Grand Slam 2010

Vladimir Moravcik bested a four man field to win the 2010 I-1 World Muay Thai Grand Slam. The four man tournament included Thiago Teixeira from Brazil, Andreas Rogner from Germany, and Cyrus Washington for the United States.

Washington and Teixeira both lost decision in the tournament semi-finals, and in the tournament finals Moravcik was able to defeat Rogner via a second round KO.

For Washington it is the second tournament that he has been part of where he has been ousted in one fight. In October he was unable to advance past the opening round of the Totyota Vigo Tournament.

Cyrus Washington - Ready for the I-1 Muay Thai Grand Slam 2010

Thailand is the Mecca of Muay Thai, and for American Muay Thai enthusiast and fighters getting to train there is a dream come true. Cyrus Washington, a Saginaw, Michigan native has been living in Phuket, Thailand for over a year, training and honing his Muay Thai skills. Every time he steps into a ring he is representing the United States, but that doesn't add any pressure. Washington is currently preparing for the I-1 World Muay Thai Grand Slam 2010.

"No I feel no added pressure, although it is I-1" said Washington. "I am proud to be part of this event".

Cyrus Washington represents the United States at the I-1 World Muay Thai Grand SLAM 2010 in China

I-1 World Muay Thai Grand SLAM 2010 is set for Nov. 22nd at the Hong Kong International Trade & Exhibition Centre (Star Hall) in Hong Kong, China.
 
The Grand Slam will feature a four man tournament for the WMC 158lb world title.
 
Representing the United States of America in the tournament will be WPMF International Champion and current Myanmar Bare-hand Fight Champion, Cyrus Washington. The Michigan native will have to best a field that includes the first I-1 Grand SLAM champion Vladimir Moravcik of Slovakia, Thiago Teixiera from Brazil, and Andreas Rogner from Germany.
