Friday Night Fights Results: Kwiatkowski stops Martinez

Friday Night Fights took place once again this past Friday in New York. The main event for the night featured Chris Kwiatkowski against veteran James Martinez. Kwiatkowski scored (T)KO victory over Martinez in the third round due to leg kicks. With the win Kwiatkowski has now won three consecutive fights.

In other action Elijah Clarke continued to impress as he scored a unanimous decision over Georgui Smaguin, and Quinton O'Brien defeated Ariel Sepulveda by split decision.

Chris Kwiatkowski vs. James Martinez set for Friday Night Fights September 19th event in New York

Friday Night Fights has announced that the main event for their September 19th New York fight card will be Chris Kwiatkowski vs. James Martinez. The fight card will also feature two additional pro fights  that are Ariel Sepulvida vs. Quinton O'Brien and Elijah Clarke vs. Georgui Smaguin.

Kwiatkowski will return to action for the first time since January when he defeated Justin Greskiewicz by decision at the Friday Night Fights season opener. Martinez a Muay Thai veteran has become a journey man in the past few years and will be looking to play spoiler to Kwiatkowski in front of the Polish Punisher's home crowd.

Take-On Productions XXIV Results

Take-On Productions XXIV took place this past Friday in New York. After the last minute removal of Travis Lerchen the main event featured Cyrus Washington vs. James Martinez. It was another highlight reel knockout for Washington when it was over as he scored a second round stoppage of Martinez with a spinning heel kick. With the win Washington gets back on the winning track after having dropped his two previous fights by decision.

In the night's other pro fight Nick Vaughn scored a stoppage victory over Marc Seno. In the third round Vaughn connected with an elbow that forced the stoppage.

James Martinez replaces Travis Lerchen against Cyrus Washington at Take-On XXIV

James Martinez will step in on short notice to replace Travis Lerchen against Cyrus Washington at Take-On XXIV on December 13, 2013. Lerchen was forced to withdraw from the bout after breaking his foot. 

Martinez who is known for his short stint on the first season of The Contender Asia will have his hands full with Washington. Martinez has lost his last few fights by knockout, many of which were taken on short notice. Washington is known for his explosiveness and his highlight reel knockouts. Washington will be looking to end a two fight skid after dropping back to back fights by decision.

Hakeem Dawodu vs. James Martinez and Sandria Bastian vs. Casey Bohrman set for Challenger Muay Thai Series "Collision Course" on September 21st

Mike Miles' Challenger Muay Thai Series will return on September 21st with "Collision Course". The event will take place at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In the night's main event Hakeem Dawodu and James Martinez will face off, and in the night's co-main event Sandria Bastian and Casey Bohrman will tangle.

Dawodu has not competed since winning an one night eight man tournament in Trinidad and Tobago a few months back. Since turning pro earlier this year Dawodu has gone 5-0. Martinez will be looking to rebound after a four fight skid with him most recent loss coming to Joe Sampieri under the Friday Night Fights banner.

Bangkok Fight Night "Shockwave" results

Bangkok Fight Night “Shockwave” took place last night in Atlanta, Georgia and in the main event Chike Lindsay locked horns with James Martinez. It didn’t take long for Lindsay to find his range as he dispatched of Martinez in the first round with some excellent knees. Lindsay is now set to face Thai powerhouse Saiyok in Thailand this upcoming May. It was a dominant performance by Lindsay, who has now won five consecutive fights.

Alex Berrios and Stephen Richards tangled in a re-match of their 2010 fight.
This time it was for the WBC Muay Thai super middleweight national title, and from the start it was close fight as both fighters left it all out in the ring. In the fourth round Richards began to turn up the pressure, and although Berrios was standing toe to toe with him, Richards began to take control. In the fifth round it seemed Berrios suffered some damage when Richards connected with a leg kick, but he kept fighting. In the end the result was the same as their first fight, a unanimous decision for Stephen Richards.

4 Muay Thai fights set for tonight's Bangkok Fight Night "Shockwave" event in Atlanta

In the Muay Thai main event on Fri, April 5th, Atlanta Muay Thai star Chike Lindsay returns to fight the ever-explosive James Martinez for the WBC title in the biggest Bangkok Fight Night to date. In the co-main event, prepare for a clash of souls as Muay Thai sensation Stephen Richards and the ever exciting Alex Berrios put their records and reputations on the line for the WBC U.S. Title. BFN Champion Dexter “Bolo” Carthon also steps up to fight the bone-crushing veteran, Kevin Brooks, and rising star Gui Curry goes toe to toe with the hard hitting Ramonte Chatman.

Chike Lindsay vs. James Martinez set for Bangkok Fight Night "Shockwave"

Bangkok Fight Night returns on April 5, 2013 to Atlanta, GA at with "Shockwave". The event will once again be held at Center Stage. The night's main event will feature a bout between Chike Lindsay and James Martinez.

Lindsay is coming off a decision victory over Somluck Kamsing at Push Kick Promotions "World Stand Off" event and is currently on a four fight win streak. Martinez has not fought in over a year when he suffered a loss to Craig Buchanan.

James Martinez vs. Sean Hinds to headline Atlantic City Take-On Productions event

Muay Thai Authority has been informed by Take-On Productions promoter Eddie Cuello that a bout between veterans James Martinez and Sean Hinds will headline their October 22nd event in Atlantic City, NJ.

Martinez is most likely recognized from his role on "The Contender Asia", he was the only American on the show. Martinez has focused on MMA for the last few years, but most recently fought in Muay Thai against Sakmongkol back in June where he lost by (T)KO to the Thai legend.

Sean Hinds most recently competed back in July at Take-On Productions "Battle at the Beacon Theater" where he fought in a re-match with Douglas Edwards. Hinds defeated Edwards the first time by (T)KO and won the re-match with a decisive decision.
