The Re-match: Chaz Mulkey vs. Remy Bonnel

On August 20th Chaz Mulkey and Remy Bonnel will meet in a re-match of their August 2010 fight which Bonnel won by unanimous decision after five hard fought rounds. The second time round the stakes are raised as their fight is for the interim WBC Muay Thai middleweight international title at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 3" in Primm, NV. Both Mulkey and Bonnel are excited about the re-match, but not because they are fighting one another again. It is the fact that they are fighting for the interim WBC Muay Thai international title.

Joe Schilling and Brandon Banda rumored to fight for vacant WBC Muay Thai Light Heavyweight U.S. National Title

On Tuesday Muay Thai Authority broke the news that Shawn Yarborough had been stripped of his WBC Light Heavyweight U.S. National Title. Muay Thai Authority has since heard from sources close to the situation that interim WBC Muay Thai Super Middleweight U.S. National Champion Joe Schilling is going to move up a weight class and take on Brandon Banda for the vacant title at Lion Fight Promotions August 20th event in Primm, NV. Lion Fight Promotions has not made any official announcements regarding the bout.

Cyrus Washington talks upcoming bout with Cosmo Alexandre at Battle in the Desert 2 on May 14th

Confirmed this week as a late addition to the May 14 Lion Fight Promotions event "Battle in the Desert 2" is a fight between Cyrus Washington and Cosmo Alexandre. Muay Thai Authority was able to catch up with Cyrus and find out his thoughts on his upcoming fight with world ranked Cosmo Alexandre.

MTA: You have a big fight coming up on May 14th with Cosmo Alexandre. Are there any advantages you feel you will have against him when you guys fight?

Cyrus: When we fight I feel I have some other techniques that he might not have seen,but it's obvious he has the better resume ect.

Mark DeLuca talks upcoming fight with Kevin Ross

Mark DeLuca will be fighting Kevin Ross at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 2" on May 14th in the nights main event. Mark was kind enough to take some time and answer some questions for Muay Thai Authority regarding his upcoming bout with Kevin Ross.

MTA: You have a big fight coming up against Kevin Ross on May 14th in Primm, rumor has it you asked to fight Kevin. Is that true and if so why?

Mark: I never called him out or anything, but given the whole east v. west debate and me being a 140lb east coast fighter, I volunteered to step up and put my skills to the test.
