Cyrus Washington and Stephen Richards set to fight for WBC Muay Thai national title at Bangkok Fight Night 11

The main event for the Bangkok Fight Night 11 has had the stakes raised. The scheduled bout between Cyrus Washington and Stephen Richards will be for the WBC Muay Thai U.S. national super middleweight title. This will be the first time ever that a WBC Muay Thai title fight will take place in the state of Georgia. Bangkok Fight Night 11 will take place October 22nd at Center Stage in Atlanta, GA.

Washington have been a very active fighter as of late, he most recently dropped a spirited fight to Kaoklai Kaennorsing after a cut forced the bout to be stopped. Washington has lived and fought in Thailand for the last couple of years and was one of the 16 contestants on The Challenger Muay Thai which is currently airing in Asia. Washington is known for his explosive style of fighting and should provide an exciting fight along with Richards.

Richards has not fought since an August 2010 victory of Shawn Yarborough for the IKKC international light heavyweight title. The most impressive part of the performance was that Richards arm was broken midway through the fight, yet he still was able to win the remaining rounds to take home a unanimous decision. It will be interesting to see if Richards shows any effects from his injury, or if the year off slows him down in the fight with Washington.
