Eric Utsch talks return to action against Sean Hinds

On Friday (June 22) Eric Utsch will be returning to action at Friday Night Fights Muay Thai in New York after having taken over a year off from competing. Utsch recently started his own amateur promotion in his hometown of Allentown, PA. Inkosi Fights caters towards K-1 style fights for amateurs, but after taking the time to get his promotion going Utsch is ready to step back in the ring.

Looking to give Utsch a warm welcome back into action is veteran Sean Hinds. To prepare for Hinds, Utsch has been training at Real Fighters Gym in Louisville, KY. Utsch took some time to answer a handful of questions for Muay Thai Authority about his return to action against Hinds.

MTA: You will be fighting Sean Hinds on June 22nd, how familiar are you with Hinds as a fighter?

Eric: I have seen Sean fight 2 or 3 times, seen him around the NYC Muay Thai scene a lot. He is always nice.

MTA: How is your training for the fight going, you’re training with Eric Haycraft right?

Eric: My training is good, it is different than other training camps. I've trained in the past at Eric’s gym, it is more Dutch style which is why decided to train there more.

MTA: You haven't competed in a while, you worried about anything like ring rust affecting you in the fight?

Eric: Yes I haven’t competed in a while, toke some time to find a new trainer and get better at some things. I also started my own kickboxing show in Pennsylvania. I have been flying guys in to fight from all over. The show is called Inkosi Fights, look us up we do am shows with K-1 rules. Been doing that a lot took some time and now I am back. Hope to fight the rest of this year a lot and hoping to get on some big shows. I don't think I will have ring rust I spar hard all the time like it’s a fight so I should be fine.

MTA: Any prediction for the fight with Hinds?

Eric: I think the fight between me and Sean is going to be a 5 round war so come out and see it then coming to my town, Allentown, PA for my show the next night. Its K-1 rules for amateurs.
