According to New York State’s Hudson River Park, Friday Night Fights’ annual free event, The "Rumble on the River" drew over 3,200 spectators on Thursday night. It was the first time that the “Rumble” featured Muay Thai boxing (since the start of the event in 2005, the event featured amateur boxing).
The move to offer a free Muay Thai event was a great decision by Friday Night Fights promoter Justin Blair. Providing a timely opportunity to increase awareness along with an educational experience for those who haven't had the opportunity to witness live Muay Thai in New York just 8 days before the broadcasting of the promotion’s July 22nd event on prime time television on August 13th.
