Results and Recap: The Main Event; Liam Harrison stops Andrei Kulebin in the third round

Liam Harrison and Andrei Kulebin fought the “The Main Event” in Manchester, England this past weekend on March 30th. Harrison one the UK’s top fighters and Kulebin one of the best from Belarus were expected to deliver fire works in the ring. Harrison made sure to deliver as found a kink in Kulebin’s armor and finished the fight in the third round. Despite Kulebin stalking Harrison throughout the fight, he was unable to cause any damage. Harrison on the other hand connected with pin point, laser fast leg kicks as Kulebin tried to back him into the ropes. By the third round it was visually evident that Kulebin’s lead left leg wasn’t going to be able to withstand anymore punishment. Harrison added a few addition leg kicks until Kulebin hit the canvas. The fight was stopped and Harrison defeated Kulebin by (T)KO 27 seconds into the third round.

Tim Thomas vs. Andy Thrasher and Liam Harrison vs. Andrei Kulebin set for "The Main Event" on March 31, 2012

On March 31, 2012 "The Main Event" in Manchester, England will feature some of the best fighters in Europe going head to head. The three confirmed bouts so fare are Tim Thomas vs. Andy Thrasher, Liam Harrison vs. Andrei Kulebin and Andrew Tate vs. Joe Mcgovern.

Thomas and Thrasher are both coming off excellent 2011 campaigns and will be fighting for three titles. The WMC MAD, ISKA and WKA world titles will all be on the line. Thomas captured the ISKA title in Cambodia in 2011 and posted a record of 7-1-1. Thrasher won the Toyota tournament, something many considered an upset and posted a record of 7-2 in 2011. Thomas and Thrasher have met in the past, a fight which Thomas won via stoppage.

Liam Harrison in considered by many to be the best fighter out of the UK and he will be taking on one of the best from Belarus in Andrei Kulebin. Harrison's year hasn't gone as most though it would, but he has faced some very talented competition. He dropped fights to Petaswin and Saenchai, but followed it up with a stellar KO of Justin Greskiewicz in his American debut. The year for Harrison ended on a sour note

USA vs. UK

With all of the excitement after Team America defeated Team Thailand at this past weekends M-One event in Los Angeles, the talks have now shifted to Team USA vs. Team UK. We have to give a disclaimer that none of the bouts listed are happening as of yet and that this is just our minds at work here at Muay Thai Authority, nothing is officially happening yet with any of these bouts.

If there were a Team USA vs. Team UK event, what would the match-ups be? We compiled what we think would be ten great match-ups pitting some of the best from the USA against some of the best from the UK. Below is a list of the fights that we feel would make one amazing USA vs. UK Muay Thai event.
