Cyrus Washington talks upcoming fight with Nieky Holzken in Suriname

Cyrus Washington will be fighting highly touted Dutch fighter Nieky Holzken on December 23rd in Suriname at Klaaromte Bossen. Washington recently won a World Muaythai Federation title and was a participant on the reality TV show “The Challenger Muaythai”. He took some time from his training schedule to answer a few questions for Muay Thai Authority about his upcoming fight against Holzken in Suriname as well as his plans for next year.

MTA: You recently won a World Muaythai Federation title, how you feeling after that win?

Cyrus: I feel good about the winning the World Muaythai Federation Title. I only allow the outcome of fights to linger for that day win or lose as I am a Muaythai fighter and must focus upon what’s next. Learn the lessons in wins and losses. Then knuckle up for the next.

Michael Corley talks about his upcoming fight with Marco Pique

The Challenger Muaythai cast member, Michael Corley will be in action on December 23rd in Suriname at the event Klaaromte Bossen. Corley will be facing fellow cast mate on The Challenger Muaythai, Marco Pique. Corley took some time to talk to Muay Thai Authority about the upcoming fight against Pique in Suriname as well as his fight in February against Chike Lindsay.

MTA: You are fighting Marco Pique in Suriname, how did the fight come about?

Michael: I saw that Eric Haycraft was looking for fighters in Suriname and I've seen in the past that he has taken guys down there, so I shot him an email with my info.

MTA: Marco Pique and you were both on The Challenger Muaythai. How is your relationship with Marco?

Sergio Pique talks about his upcoming fight in Suriname

Dynamic heavyweight fighter Sergio Pique will be fighting at Klaaromte Bossen on December 23rd in Suriname. Sergio a Suriname native took some time from his training to talk to Muay Thai Authority about the upcoming fight. 

For those not familiar with Sergio, he is the brother of Muay Thai and Kickboxing stand out Marco Pique. Originally from Suriname, he now resides in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

MTA: You are fighting on December 23rd in Suriname. How has your training for your fight been going?

Sergio: I try to put the same energy, focus and dedication in every fight. My training routine is always the same. I don’t change my routines for any opponent. I always try to stay fit and razor sharp for every fight.

Nieky Holzken vs. Cyrus Washington and Marco Pique vs. Michael Corley set for December 23rd event in Suriname

Klaaromte Bossen will take place December 23d in Suriname. The event which is being put together by WOW events will feature some top fighters from around the world. Dutch fighter Nieky Holzken has had a stellar year and will be looking to keep things going as he faces American Cyrus Washington in the night’s main event. Female stand out Jemyma Betrian will also be in action on the night as she takes on Lorena Klijn and Marco Pique against American Michael Corley.

Holzken’s only loss this year came to Ukraine’s Artur Kyshenko, but in his last two fights he has picked up quality wins over Marco Pique and Ky Hollenbeck. His pin point accuracy and timing make Holzken a nightmare for anyone in the ring with him. Washington is coming of a recent draw against Stephen Richards at Bangkok Fight Night 11. Washington was also recently a competitor on “The Challenger Muaythai” reality TV show.
