Results and Recap: Friday Night Fights Muay Thai "Sampieri vs. Erosa"

Friday Night Fights Muay Thai was back in action last night at the Broad Street Ballroom in New York. The night featured only one pro fight between Joe Sampieri and Mike Erosa.

It was a fast return to action from Erosa after having lost to Mohammed Lemjerdine a month ago. Sampieri was in control from the start of the fight, in the third round he forced two eight counts on Erosa as he consistently connected with his attacks and tossed Erosa to the canvas on several occasions. It looked like Erosa would not make it to the judges card, but somehow he was able to make it through the remaining rounds as Sampieri looked to finish. Credit to Erosa for showing some toughness and making it through the fight, but clearly Sampieri was out of his league as he walked away with a clear cut unanimous decision on all three of the judges cards.

Results and Recap: Friday Night Fights Muay Thai "All-Stars"

Friday Night Fights Muay Thai “All-Stars” took place this past Friday (July 20th) in New York. The night’s main event featured the return of “The Polish Punisher” Chris Kwiatkowski after taking a few months off due to a shoulder injury. Daniel Rodriguez was looking to spoil Kwiatkowski’s return to the ring, but “The Polish Punisher” made sure that wouldn’t happen. From the beginning it was clear that Kwiatkowski was the more technical fighter, he low kicks steadily started to pile up and in the second round they became too much to handle for Rodriguez. Kwiatkowski scored the (T)KO victory after some vicious leg kicks in the second round.

Mike Erosa vs. Joe Tipping set for May 11th Friday Night Fights Muay Thai event

Friday Night Fights Muay Thai will be back in action on May 11th at The Hall @ St. Paul’s in New York. A bout between Mike Erosa and Joe Tipping has been officially announced by the promotion.

Erosa recently dropped a decision to Liam Tarrant under the Friday Night Fights banner and will be looking to get back on the winning track against Tipping. The last time Tipping was in the Friday Night Fights ring was in September of 2011, he dropped a hard fought decision to Chris Kwiatkowski. Like Erosa, Tipping will be looking to get back on the winning track. Both fighters like to “bring it” and it should prove to be an exciting fight.

Results and Recap: Friday Night Fights Muay Thai "Tarrant vs. Erosa"

It was a packed house last night at the Broad Street Ballroom for Friday Night Fights Muay Thai: Tarrant vs. Erosa. In the night’s main event North Jersey Muay Thai’s Liam Tarrant was making his professional debut against Mike Erosa. Early in the fight Erosa bloodied Tarrant’s nose, but despite the blood Tarrant looked sharp as he controlled the fight by moving forward and landing solid kicks while successfully countering with punches. In the end he was awarded a unanimous decision victory by the judges.

Mohammed Lemjerdine bounced back from his loss knockout loss to Jake Mainini this past January by knocking out Anthony DeMaio. Lemjerdine looked sharp with his combinations and was able to knockdown DeMaio twice in the opening round. In the second Lemjerdine continued to enforce his will eventually forcing the referee to stop the fight after a third knockdown.

Liam Tarrant set to make pro debut against Mike Erosa at Friday Night Fights Muay Thai on April 13

Liam Tarrant is set to make his pro debut on April 13th when he takes on Mike Erosa under the Friday Night Fights Muay Thai banner. Tarrant has had an impressive amateur career fighting out of North Jersey Muay Thai in Lodi, NJ. He compiled an amateur record of 17-3 with his most recent victory coming over Chris McMillan.

Erosa is based out of Puerto Rico and has quite the following there. He recently fought Justin Greskiewicz taking him to a close decision. He should be a good test for Tarrant in his pro debut.
