WCK Muay Thai: USA vs. China 2015 Fight Card

WCK Muay Thai: USA vs. China is set to take place November 13 at the the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The event is the promotions annual Wulinfeng event which features a USA vs. China portion.

Josh Aragon and Ryan Roy will serve as the night's main event as they battle for the WBC Muay Thai National USA Middleweight Championship. Aragon was originally set to face Landon Simmons for his WBC Muay Thai title, but Simmons was forced to withdraw and Roy stepped in on short notice and the fight was moved up a weight class. Aragon will be looking to keep his undefeated record in tact as he takes on Roy.

Other notable fighters in action will be Jo Sittisak as he takes on Tie Yinghua, and Lerdsila "Mr. Lightning" taking on Zeqi Deng. Adam Rothweiler will also be looking to keep his undefeated record as he takes on Jin Jintao in the USA vs. China portion of the card.

Josh Aragon Fight Blog #2: You need to be ready to adapt

Another week of training down and I am feeling better and better each week. I did a lot of sparing this week working and focusing on timing and accuracy. Now that the time is getting closer I get more and more excited and anxious. It's always been a dream for me to win a WBC title and now that I get the opportunity there is no way I'm coming home without that title. To me a WBC title or WMC title are the most recognized titles internationally for Muay Thai. 

I know Landon comes to fight and he will be prepared which makes for an exciting fight. He has knockout power and won the WBC title in dominating fashion. I respect Landon, I respect every fighter that I step in the ring. I know the hard work and dedication and sacrifices we have to go through to fight and be successful in this sport, it is not for the faint of heart. Regardless of the respect, let me tell you when the bell rings I'm going for blood or the KO because nothing is gong to stand in the way of me achieving my dreams. I'm ready for this fight I feel everything is in the right place at the right time now it's time for me to make my dream become a reality.

Like anything else with the fight game you need to be ready to adapt, and I received that news on Friday. I was training and prepping to fight Landon Simmons at 154lbs for his WBC title, but I got a call from the promoter Dennis Warner that there was a change. Landon had to pull out of the fight and I was getting a replacement. Ryan Roy was my new opponent and the fight was no longer at 154lbs it was at 160lbs.

I am a fighter and the change is something that I accept, I am still fighting for a WBC title but it is for the 160lb title now. I am in great shape and now I just have to go to the drawing board to figure out my strategy against Ryan, but I know what I can do and I am confident I am still coming home with that strap.

As a fighter if you aren’t confident in your skill set then you shouldn’t be fighting. The moment you doubt yourself then you have already lost. 

I look forward to seeing everyone at the fights on November 13th at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas.

WCK Muay Thai Cali 11 Results

 

WCK Muay Thai Cali 11 took place this past weekend at the Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood, CA. There were three professional bouts on the card and several top amateurs in action as well.

In pro action all three of the bouts ended in stoppages. Francisco Garcia scored a first round (T)KO over Andrew Nguyen. George Garcia stopped Rajesh Narine in the second round, and Brian Del Rosario scored a first round knockout of Chris Minor.

In amateur fight action Natalie Morgan and Janet Todd were both victorious and won IKF Titles. Morgan defeated Venus Anne Smith by referee stoppage in the fifth round and Todd defeated Krystal Khorge by unanimous decision.

WCK Muay Thai returns to action this Saturday, October 24th at the Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood, CA with Cali 11: Bad To The Bone. The event will feature four pro bouts and eight amateur bouts.

Josh Aragon Fight Blog #1: Road to the WBC Muay Thai Championship

Josh Aragon trains out of Sityodtong LA and will be fighting current WBC Muay Thai U.S. Super Welterweight National Champion Landon Simmons. The bout will take place for the WCK in November. Aragon will be looking to keep his perfect professional record in tact, which currently stands at 6-0. 

Josh will be writing a blog in preparation for his fight for Muay Thai Authority. You can read his first blog entry below.

The second week of my training camp is in the books and I feel way better than my first week of training week. The 1st week of training camp is always tough although I workout all year long, training for a fight is a whole different kind of workout. You're pushing your body to the limit sometimes you get so exhausted you just want to quit, but that's when you push through and don't stop. That's really what makes a difference between an average fighter and a champion, pushing yourself to the limit mentally and physically without quitting. 

My weekly routine consists of sparring a lot, getting my timing back, running everyday and also doing pad work with Kru Walter. Kru is great at pushing me more and more each fight and I'm so grateful to have him in my corner. 

My weight is good so it's nice to go into training camp not worried about cutting so much weight . I try my best to eat health all year long so I don't have to cut so much weight prior to my fight. 

My training days consist of waking up and having a quick breakfast and then I am off to drop my son off at school. Then I head straight to the gym and run a 5K. I jump rope for 10 minutes, hit the bag for about 3 to 5 rounds then Kru Walter pads me for 20-30min straight through no rest in between. He likes to pad that way working explosive power speed, timing, and accuracy. After that coach has me working 10 to 15 minutes clinch every day. Afterwards I teach my classes, eat lunch, and come back to run another 5K. My strength and conditioning coach Mike Q then helps me get my next work out in. I finish teaching my classes, the last one ending at 9PM. When the last class is done I do bodywork such as pull-ups, push-ups, sit ups and dips. Also in between the mornings for the evening I have a two hour rest break so I can eat lunch and usually take a nap try to re-charge. I get home around 10 o'clock go to sleep and do it all over again.

I really try my hardest to stay around my fight weight even though I LOVE junk food. I'm Looking forward to my next week of training I'll keep you guys posted Sawat Dee Krup.

Josh Aragon talks win over Bryce Krause at WCK Muay Thai: Cali 9

Josh Aragon scored the biggest win of his career thus far by defeating Bryce Krause this past weekend at WCK Muay Thai: Cali 9. With the win Josh improved his professional record to 6-0. We were able to catch up to Josh after his win and talk to him about the fight and his upcoming plans.

MTA: Big win this weekend over Bryce Krause. How are you feeling after the fight, any injuries?

Josh: I feel great no injuries just a little sore.

MTA: Your Boxing played a big roll in your win. Did you feel going into the fight that you would have an edge with your hands?

Josh: When I go into any fight I always feel well prepared in all aspects Boxing and Muay Thai.

MTA: Bryce is an established fighter in the states. How important was this fight for you?

Josh: Bryce is great fighter with a lot of experiences so this fight meant a lot.

MTA: You knocked him down in the first round. Can you walk us through your thought process when you knock your opponent down?

Josh: When I saw that I knocked him down I got a little to excited and started loading up on my shots, he was able to defend well and it gave him a chance to recover.

MTA: You have proven you can win fights inside and out of the clinch. When you prepare for a fight do you focus on any particular aspect of your game or prepare it all equally?

Josh: Kru Walter has always worked equally on my boxing and Muay Thai and every camp we feel it's best to stay sharp in every aspect of the game.

MTA: Do you have your radar locked on any particular fighter for your next fight and when will we see you in action again?

Josh: I will fight whoever they put in front of me. I just want to fight, however, I would like to wrap one of those WBC green belts around my waist. I'm hoping to fight 1 more time before I leave to Thailand in November.

MTA: You are undefeated with a record of 6-0. Is staying undefeated something you focus on and does it create more pressure?

Josh: The record doesn't mean anything to me if I haven't beaten any of the best, so hopefully each fight I will get to challenge myself with better and better fighters.

MTA: After a big win what is your go to food knowing you don't have to diet for a fight?

Josh: After my fight I give my self a couple days of eating junk food like ice cream, donuts, crappie food like that, but then I'm right back to eating clean again. I try not to go too far off weight just in case we get a call, you never know.

MTA: You have gone to Thailand to train and fight, how is that experience?

Josh: Yes I've been lucky enough to train in Thailand a few times and learn from some of the very best at Sityodtong Pattaya the best camp in Thailand. I even had the pleasure of working with the Godfather of Muay Thai Grand master Dr. Yodtong Sriwaralak (senanan) so for that I feel very blessed. I'm scheduled to fight for Max Muay Thai in Pattaya we leave November 29 come back December 15.

MTA: A lot of guys are starting to fight both Kickboxing and Muay Thai. Are you interested in trying your hand at Kickboxing or is it only Muay Thai for you?

Josh: I love Muay Thai and my heart will always be Muay Thai, but yes I would like to fight kickboxing mainly because they have some of the best stand up fighters in the game and it will be a pleasure to fight on the same stage or against.

MTA: Any words for your friends and supporters?

Josh: First of all I would like to thank my wife and kids for putting up with my grumpy ass during training camp. I would also like to thank Kru Walter and all of Sityodtong LA for there continuous support. I would like to thank my family and friends and all my sponsors I couldn't do it without them.

WCK Muay Thai: Cali 9 Results - Rothweiler remains undefeated with (T)KO victory

WCK Muay Thai: Cali 9 took place last night at the Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood, CA. The event was headlined by undefeated Adam Rothweiler taking on Mehdi Mahaleh in a featherweight bout. Rothweiler made short work of Mahaleh, damaging him with leg kicks and scoring a (T)KO victory at two minutes and thirty seconds of round one. It was another impressive display by Rothweiler who now improves his record to 7-0.

In the co-main event Sityodtong fighter Josh Aragon and veteran Bryce Krause put on a great fight for five rounds. Aragon used his boxing to set the pace and control the fight, scoring a knockdown in the first round. He was also able to control the fight when it went to the clinch and in the end won a unanimous decision.

Adam Rothweiler talks upcoming fight with Mehid Mahaleh at WCK Muay Thai: Cali 9

Adam Rothweiler will be fighting Mehid Mahaleh at this weekend's WCK Muay Thai: Cali 9 event. Rothweiler is an exciting fighter that loves to press the action and let the leather fly. He has yet to taste defeat in the Muay Thai ring since transitioning over from MMA. 

We were able to catch up to Adam and talk about the upcoming fight as well as his career up this point.

MTA: Adam you are fighting Mehid Mahaleh at Cali 9. How familiar are you with your opponent?

Adam: I'm not familiar with my opponent at all. We were not able to get any video of him. We only know his record as a Kickboxer. 

MTA: As a fighter how important is research of your opponents, does it play a big role in your preparation?

Adam: It's sometimes nice to do some research on my opponents so I have some kind of idea of their style but I'm not really worried about what he does, I just get in the ring and fight.

MTA: You have yet to taste defeat in the Muay Thai ring, does the pressure to stay undefeated mount with each fight?

Adam: I don't feel any pressure to stay undefeated. I just don't let being undefeated get to my head. I always go into a fight feeling like I'm the underdog so I don't put any pressure on myself. 

MTA: You started your fight career in MMA. What prompted the move to Muay Thai, typically it is the other way around?

Adam: Yes, I started my career in MMA and in a lot of ways it helped me improve my stand up because I had to learn different styles to help me compete at a higher level. When I started fighting, I always wanted to fight Muay Thai. I just never got the opportunity until I met and started talking with Dennis Warner, promoter and owner of WCK Full Rules Muay Thai. He gave me the opportunity to fight in his promotion and I never looked back.

MTA: As a fighter what brings on the most amount of pressure, and what do you do to deal with it?

Adam: As a fighter I don't feel much pressure. I just try to keep a clear head and focus on the task at hand. 

MTA: You have an exciting fight style that fans love. Who is your trainer and can you tell us a little about him?

Adam: David Salinas is my boxing coach. He's put a lot of time in with me and is a great coach. He always pushes me and constantly helps me to improve my stand up. I just feel really comfortable with working with him and I feel that's an important relationship that a fighter should have with a coach. 

MTA: As we know you started in MMA, but what prompted you to start training to be a fighter?

Kenny Finister

Adam: That would have to be Kenny Finister. He's been my long time Muay Thai coach and has also put a lot of time in with me to help me improve my techniques with my elbows, knees, and kicks. 

Tony Martindale is my strength and conditioning coach and manager. He always makes sure I'm ready to fight and peak at the right time for my fights during fight camp. 

If it weren't for my coaches I wouldn't be who I am as a fighter today.

Honestly, I never really saw myself as a fighter or ever thought about being a professional fighter. I joined Adrenaline gym just to work out and get in shape. Then a couple of months later I was asked to fight. I never looked back and now I'm here today as a professional fighter. 

MTA: Outside of the ring what are your hobbies?

Adam: Outside the ring I like to go fishing and ride motorcycles. I just like to relax and spend time with my family, especially my son Dylan. Anything to get my mind off of the everyday grind of training camp.

MTA: Not looking past your current opponent, but if you could fight anyone your next fight who would it be?

Adam: I never look past an opponent. I don't care who I fight I just want to stay busy and fight as much as I can.

MTA: Any words for your supporters?

Adam: I want to thank KAR construction, Adrenaline gym and all my fans. They're the ones that keep me going! I really appreciate all the support they have given me.

WCK Muay Thai: Victoria's Extreme Results - Gogos edges Gaines in elbow war

WCK Muay Thai: Victoria's Extreme took place last night in Tijuana, Mexico. The event was part of Festival Raztlan and had a packed house.

In the main event of the night Sheldon Gaines and Jose Gogos put on an exciting fight for those in attendance. Elbow's were flying throughout the fight. It was a close fight that ended in a split decision in favor of Gogos. With the win Gogos captured the IKKC Muay Thai North American Lightweight Title.

In the night's co-main event San Diego's Francisco Garcia scored a (T)KO victory over Tecate's Miguel Sanchez.

Bryce Krause set to fight Josh Aragon at WCK Muay Thai: Cali 9

WCK Muay Thai: Cali 9 is set to take place July 25th and there have been a few changes to the fight card. The biggest change is the addition of Bryce Krause, the former WBC Muay Thai USA National Champion will replace Eddie Abasolo against Josh Aragon.

Krause will be one of the toughest challenges Aragon will face in the ring this far into his professional career. The veteran is known for the power he packs in his punches, especially his left hand. 

Casey Greene will also no longer be competing at the event as he asked WCK Muay Thai for permission to participate in the Glory 4-man tournament in August and his request was granted. Greene will be replaced by teammate Eddie Jackson who will now challenge Marcin Baczkowski.

WCK Muay Thai: Victoria's Extreme Fight Card

WCK Muay Thai: Victoria's Extreme will take place this Saturday the 18th of July in Tijuana, Mexico at the Caliente Casino & Racetrack. The event will be part of two days of action for WCK with an all Muay Thai card taking place on the 18th and an all MMA card taking place on the 19th.

The main event on the evening will be Sheldon Gaines vs. Jose Gogos for the IKKC Muay Thai North American Lightweight Title. Gaines has built a reputation as a rugged and durable fighter who will fight anyone any where. He has delivered several memorable wars in the California Muay Thai circuit and is an entertaining fighter.

The fight card will be rounded out by fights such as Mexican veteran Rodolfo Arce taking on Matt Sayles, and up and comer Leonel Padilla vs. Jose Lopez.  You can see the full

WCK Muay Thai: Cali 9 Fight Card

WCK Muay Thai: Cali 9 will take place July 25th 2015 at the Hollywood Park Casino. The event will which will feature nine professional bouts will have fighters such as Adam Rothweiler, Josh Aragon, Jacob Poss, and Charles Bisset in action. 

Rothweiler will be looking to keep his undefeated record when he faces Mehid Mahaleh. Rothweiler is one of California's brightest talents. He is a dynamic fighter that loves to press the action and gives fans exciting performances.

Josh Aragon, a Sityodtong trained fighter will face Eddie Abasolo. Aragon spent a decent amount a of time cutting his teeth on the amateur circuit where he earned is reputation as one of California's upcoming talents before making the jump to the pro ranks a few years back.

WCK Muay Thai: Cali 5 set for August 16th at Hollywood Park Casino

WCK Muay Thai: Cali 5 is set for August 16th at Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood, CA. The night's main event will feature a WBC Muay Thai USA National title fight between Zoila Frausto and Lindsey Marino. Both Frausto and Marino have had successful starts to their Muay Thai careers and each has a 2-0 record.

The other pro bout taking place on the card is Charles Bissett and Jason Rzepka. Bisset was in action at WCK Muay Thai: Hot Summer Fights 2014 last month where he improved his pro record to 2-1 with a unanimous decision win over Tom Gallicchio via Unanimous Decision.

WCK Muay Thai: Hot Summer Fights 2014 took place last night at Morongo Casino in Cabazon, CA. The event featured a slew of Southern California based talent. In the main event Romie Adanza and Frank Gross had a re-match of their April 2014 fight that ended in a controversial draw. This time around Gross walked away the winner and new WBC Muay Thai Flyweight International Champion. The judges awarded Gross a split decision. 

Also on the fight card Lena Ovchynnikova defeated Ruth Ashdown to win the WBC Muay Thai Women's Flyweight World Title.

WCK Muay Thai action will take place July 19 at Morongo Casino Resort in Cabazon, CA with Hot Summer Fights 2014. The event will feature a main event bout between Romie Adanza and Frank Gross. The pair fought in April of this year to a controversial draw which many thought should have been a win for Adanza. 

The event will also feature Lena Ovchynnikova vs. Ruth Ashdown in a WBC Muay Thai world title fight. Other fighters scheduled to compete on the card are local west coast stand outs Glen Spencer, Jason Caldwell, and Charles Bisset.

WCK Muay Thai: International Showdown took place this past Saturday at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, CA. The main event featured Jemyma Betrian  vs. Christi Brereton. Betrian was able to defend her WBC Muay Thai Women's Bantamweight World Title by knocking out Brereton in the second round. It was another dominant performance for Betrian who is now on a eight fight winning streak with the victory.

Also on the fight card Adam Rothweiler remained undefeated with a fourth round knockout of Ji Guangian. With the win Rothweiler remains undefeated in his pro Muay Thai career at 6-0.

WCK Muay Thai "International Showdown" set for June 7th at Pechanga Resort and Casino

WCK Muay Thai returns to Pechanga Resort and Casino on June 7th with “International Showdown”. The event will feature a main event bout between Jemyma Betrian and Christi Brereton for the WBC Women’s Bantamweight World Title. Betrian will be looking to win her eight consecutive fight when she fights Brereton.

Also fighting on the event will be rising star Adam Rothweiler as he takes on Ji Guangjian for the WLF Muay Thai Featherweight Title. The fight card will also feature The Ultimate Fighter alumni Sam Alvey as he take on Jacob Poss.

WCK Muay Thai: Beauty and the Beast set for May 1st in Lemoore, CA

WCK Muay Thai: Beauty and the Beast is set to take place at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, CA. on May 1^st. The event will feature a one night 4-man heavyweight tournament as well as a women’s bout featuring Zolia Frausto and Jessica Gladstone.

The 4-man heavyweight tournament will feature Steven Banks, Tony Lopez, Carter Williams, and Manuel Quezada. The semi-final match ups have not been determined for the event yet, and will be chosen at weigh-ins.

Also on the card Landon Simmons returns to action after his (T)KO over Bryce Krause earlier this year. Simmons will face Raul Rodriguez as he tries to defend his WBC Muay Thai Super Welterweight Championship.

Romie Adanza vs. Franck Gross official as main event for Cali 4

Romie Adnaza has been set to headline the Cali 4 event on April 19th at Hollywood Park Casino in Los Angeles, CA for some time now. It wasn't until the last few days that his opponent was confirmed. Stepping in to face Adanza will be Franck Gross of France. 

Gross brings in a record of 31-6 to the fight. Adanza will be looking to win back to back fights after having recently snapped a three fight losing streak with a knockout of Thanit "Boom" Whatthanaya in his last appearance under the WCK Muay Thai banner.
